And surprise, surprise, it is more an evolved 2WD buggy than a traditional 4WD "Dakar" car. Sainz, Peterhansel and Despres to drive it.

I really wish they went back to Le Mans than do these "Pike's Peak" and "Dakar" adventures, but I guess they're doing a good job at keeping the PEUGEOT name relevant in motorsports with a probably much smaller budget.

Yes it very well seems so. No use for pushing in WTCC because Citroën is already in there. They are also PSA Group. Peugeot has some racing here in France with the RCZ Racing Cup and the 208 Racing Cup (Spider cup is also there I think). TC2000 in Brazil runs a Peugeot 408 Touring Car with limited? factory support I thought.

I think however if they succeed in Dakar and Rallye Championship they return their focus again to circuit racing. I am sure they return to Le Mans one day :D

What, in the name of all existence, is this. The original Nissan Morano was bad, the Race Touareg 3 was worse, but this! This takes the cake, the bakery, and all the cooks for horrid.

That's a suitably menacing colour scheme for a car slathered in Red Bull and Total sponsors. Really looks the business. I'm hoping they'll stick with it next year.

Looks good! At least it does in the pictures!
Hopefully they keep the black but they will probably do the something similar to the Pikes Peak car.
Good luck to them! Hopefully some success can get them back into circuit racing.

I thought I was the only one who thought it looked ridiculous. It looks like somebody stuck parts from a lunar rover onto a Mini Moke, and then made a monster truck out of it.

You guys are too hard to please. I find this car to be amazing and a full on beautiful racing machine. And I'm not easy to please too, always found the Dakar and WRC Minis to be awful.

There's something about it being a 2WD too ... Even in rally raids I thought Schlesser would be the last to seriously contend for victory without 4WD.

Generally if you are doing the Dakar in a 2WD buggy you need a design similar such as:

Got a diecast of this somewhere as well.

My issue with the car is that they seem to have spent all of their time and money on making a car that looks good, rather than a car that is fast. And to my mind, all the stealth bomber styling looks unnecessary and cumbersome.

Schlesser Buggy is epic. And simple. The "DKR" is neither.
