I recently picked up my copy of Prima's GT4 Strategy Guide(after waiting almnost 3 months for it to be published). As I was going through the Manufacturers listings I noticed that Peugeot was listed in the page showing all the Company emblems but was mysteriously missing once I started thumbing through the pages. There is no mention of any of the Peugeot cars in any of the Check Lists either. I was just wondering if anyone else has the same omission or did I just happen to receive a copy that fell through the cracks?

The same observation was made by another user a few days ago in another thread... This is an obvious mistake and should not have happened, especially after such a long time they had to prepare..... 👎

You may have noticed my mentioning this in the guide thread earlier, but I was ticked. I mean, Peugeot has been in GT since GT2, it's got an 8-9 car line up in GT4. It's really weird that they would leave it out. It seems almost as if it were on purpose as it's a manufacterer, I get the feeling that if it was on accident, you would need really really bad editing to miss it. It's not in the lists, prize lists, or the manufacterer analysis. What's the deal Prima?!?!?!? Maybe we should have a mass movement to email the crap out of their offices, flooding them with complaints of a rushed and extremely delayed guide.

Perhaps because there are different versions of the game, Prima has different strategy guides for those locations as well. At some point during development Prima may have gotten word that Peugot would not be in the NA version of GT4. Either at the last minute or forgetting to inform Prima the NA PD dev team decide to include Peugot. As a result it could have accidentaly been left out of the guide.

I don't have the guide, but I can't help but consider what it really offers a buyer.

Surely everything in it is available free on this forum ?

Setting aside the obvious dissappointment that they'd leave a certain manufacturer out of the final publication, this strategy guide is aces. It is a great read with some good editorials on alot of the cars involved in the game and is a real joy to thumb through. Even if the book doesn't help me that much, which I doubt because the track break downs are so indepth, this book is just over-all fun to read. Pick it up just for the fact of having it,it's well illustrated and fun filled.

Well I wasn't sure whether to buy the guide or not, but based on this glaring omission I don't think I'll bother.

is the strategie guide a good choice to buy

NO, it's not. 👎 👎 👎 Every time I pick it up I'm sorry I bought it. It's very poor for how long they had to develop it. Heck, they could have copied innumerable pages from the internet and had a better guide. Pretty pictures? Sure. Pictures of the tracks? Sure (but no better than what can be found on the internet). Discussions of racing lines and indepth coverage of the tracks? No, unless you consider "slow in, fast out", "there are lots of curves here so be careful" in depth coverage of a racing line.

Although I must admit it is good for the occasional laugh. I was looking at the Champoniox (or something like that, the complicated rally circuit) track and the page indicates that a LSD in your car would be a good purchase and refers the reader to the (no doubt they think it's indepth but it's not) tuning section. Flipping to the tuning guide on LSD I read - "LSD can be used to change how the differential works." Woohoo, now I'm flying through that rally course with that added knowledge.

This is the first strategy guide I've ever purchased, hoping that they would at least do the work that I'm now busy doing of accumulating tuning and track information from the internet. My looseleaf notebook at home is already more useful than the Prima guide.

Let's see here. They forgot Peugeot, said you win an AUDI "Chaparrel" 2D Race Car in Nurburgring 4hr, an Audi Speed 8 (it's a Bentley) in Le Sarthe II 24hr, and said the Audi R8 was a BENTLEY that you won for doing the Le Sarthe I 24hr. I think it was rushed along. It had to be, especially since I saw blatant and obvious errors in the prize list. I can't believe it took them this long to bring it out, with all these errors in it.

AHAHHAHAHHAHAHHA

The most fun thread of all on here would be starting one with all the errors in this guide.I like having it around as a fun read like I said in my earlier post.I really think Prima should have conversed a little more with PD to get their information straight. All the bull**** about publication problems gave them enough time to get their facts straight IMHO.

I can't believe they'd leave out, IMO, the best rally car in the game, the 206.
From the sounds of it, the book could use a lot more work in order for it to be worth the money you'd spend on it. Seems like everything the book has, and more, could be found on here.
Ya gotta wonder if anyone from Prima has even played the game after everything i've read.

PD should just publish a guide themselves instead of licensing it out to a third party. The driving guide that came with Gran Turismo 2 is still better then any strategy guide that has been published.

They actually are going to, I think it's called 'GT4 Complete" for people in the US and people in Europe. For the Japanese, it is already out. It's called "GT4 The Bible". If you can read Japanese, get that as soon as possible.

I thought that "GT4 The Bible" was released as "Gran Turismo: Driving the Game" here in the US. I have this book and while it is quite nice to see some of the behind the scenes pictures I thought that the book was still lacking. It is basically just a collection of Photo Mode pictures in a coffee table book. I have not heard anything about "GT4 Complete".

ok so the giude is also missing ANOTHER car
the Mazda MX Crossport is not listed either.
Also I'm having difficulty finding 4 cars. The guide lists them, but you can't win them, and I've not been able to find them in the lots or showrooms. If any of you have confirmation of where to get them or if they even exist at all, please let me know.
