In 2012, Peugeot organized a one-make racing series featuring a specially made version of the popular RCZ: The RCZ Racing Cup. The race car is closely derived from the street car, except for the fact that the all the interior amenities were removed in favor of a more modest set-up that only includes racing seats and a roll cage. The interior sheds 250 kg despite the addition of new suspension dampers and AP Racing brakes. As for the engine, the RCZ Racing Cup carries the same 1.6-liter THP engine but with an increased output of 250 horsepower - from 200 horsepower - and 214 lb/ft of torque and mated to a SADEV six-speed paddle shift sequential transmission. With the Street car's introduction in GT6, this would make for a intriguing addition to the Peugeot lineup and add a racer outside of the WRC and Sportscar racing.
