Peugeot's 407 SW estate is now available in new Sport XS trim

Priced from £23,995, the model blends the company's 2.2-litre HDi 170 diesel engine with a number of exterior additions. These include front bumper spoilers, a tailgate spoiler, sports mesh front grille, twin sports exhaust pipes and 18-inch alloy wheels. Top speed is 137mph, 0-62mph is nine seconds and the extra urban fuel cycle returns 55.3mpg.

Four metallic paint options are available: onyx black, alumiunium, iron grey and halycon blue. Half leather upholstery is standard

I like the exterior changes, but... I still can't figure out what's sporty about this, nor what differs this version from the previous 2.2l Diesel 407SW.

Though, I really dig that new spoiler.

Oh peugeot where did you go wrong.

Oh wait I remember, you made all your cars look like crap and got rid of all the cheap fun cars. Now you just have ugly, unreliable and dull cars. I mean cars like the 205 and the 106 werent the most reliable and probably none too safe in an accident but at least they put a smile on your face. I mean even their old diesels were pretty decent, I mean everything around the powertrain would probably brake but the rest of the car was pretty damn solid.

To think they went from the 306, one of the best looking hatchbacks made, to the 307, one of the ugliest. And the 406 coupe, one of the best looking cars ever made, to the 407, one of the ugliest. Peugeot really know how to ruin the looks of something. I rally don't understand what their obsession is with whale mouth grilles and HUGE headlights.
