I have now been op-opted (voted) into the board of directors at my golf club. That's a sentence I never thought I'd type..

It's a voluntary role, as all the board member roles are, so it will be done in my free time. I am going to be looking after the marketing and social media for the club, very similar to what I do for my wife's business. The club has ambitions long term of being a top 100 in the UK m, but more realistically top 200 should be comfortably achievable. Will be fun to work on this process and see how a good club runs in a way I haven't been able to explore before.

On a side note, ahead of the first meeting tonight, I played 18 holes and played the best I've played for a very long time. I shot an 80 (it's a par 69), I didn't know this playing the last and missed a birdie putt by a few cm, had that dropped it would have been a 79. I put the new Cobra King Tec MD Mini driver and OPTM X 7 wood into play and both did well, in particular the 7 wood which is so easy to hit.

Congrats on role @MagpieRacer , sounds like a great way to give back to the club and community plus getting some insight with the ins and outs of the operations of a club. If I ever make the trip around the world for a game in the UK I’ll hit you up 😂👍🏼

Speaking of which, had my PB so far this year on Wednesday at the local, finally snuck in a sub 80 round since December, scrambling and making up and downs is very satisfying 🤙🏼

Dude hit it an absolute mile and his swing was effortless. Really awesome to watch. Said he's been trying to prepare for senior tour qualifiers but he was down here because everywhere else has been snowing relentlessly lol. Baseball players are just different, man.
