If two cars have the exact same finish time who gets the win or is it a tie ?

its literally impossible for you to get the exact same time in a race.

It's happened to me but I cam second. It probably goes by who was leading before the tie

I think it goes further down the decimal order to decide who wins, but I've been very wrong before.

Ok, now read the post above (legacyMACHINE's)
Thanks for the opinions. The timer only goes to the third decimal (thousandth of a second). I'm guessing that the software is not programmed to deal with a tie and is only set up for a 1st and 2nd. Possibly it gives 1st to the first name alphabetically. In my case I had the lead and was caught and it gave the win to c---- and not to me, j----.

@legacyMACHINE is correct, it is a computer after all, even though it rounds to the thousandths, the time is more precise than that.

This was in GT5, I'm in the Ford, won by 0.000

Probably one of the best photo-finish pics I ever saw, and took. :sly:
Do you have a photo of the back of the cars crossing the line too?

I've had this weird idea since ever* that in the case of two cars crossing the line 0.000s apart, their order is determined by which car entirely crosses the finish line first, rather than just by which reaches the finish line first.

*GT4, Subaru Mission Race. My Impreza reached the finish line at exactly the same time as the 360, but at triple the speed the entire car crossed much, much sooner. It awarded me the win by DAYS.

I don't. Your idea seems plausible though. I was driving faster than the Nardo up there when we crossed the line.

For the same exact time, first place goes to the fastest car crossing the finish line,

Just a theory.

But That would be the most logical way to determine a tie, me think.

Who wants to try... ? :sly:

I had this happen the other day. I was leading then got some wheelspin, gap 0.000, and I lost. Havent had that happen since GT2.
