Mods, please move this to a more appropriate forum, such as Q&As if you see fit.

Does anybody know if the camera settings get recorded within the file somewhere??

I'm asking because there's a thread or two suggesting Standard cars have been improved with update v1.10. At the moment it seems a bit subjective, I personally suspect they've been given a spruce. However, without comparing on pre and post updated systems, how can we tell??

I have a bunch of photos I've taken of Standard cars, so in theory I could do my own compare and contrast, but it'd be helpful to know what settings an old photo was taken with...

I would think that it was just the standard models being slightly more optimized (visually) to the GT5 engine which is why they "look better since update 1.10".

As for the camera settings being recorded, I think once the file gets exported to the PS3 Photo XMB, it loses the render settings and becomes just an image file (I could be wrong, I'm an amateur at best with these things! :lol: )

One thing I CAN say, though, is that reflections on the cars overall have improved as it now smoothly passes on the car now..blocky but smooth.

I've just been fiddling with my GT5 profile "photo" and after having saved the image from my eu.gran-turismo.com profile page, I thought I'd have a look at the properties of the picture.

Under the Advanced button on the Summary tab, you'll find typical camera type and settings. Just for the record, profile pictures are taken with the following settings;

Flash Mode - No Flash
Focal Length - 2mm
F-Number - F/28
Exposure Time - 1/250 sec
Exposure Program - Manual
Equipment Maker - Polyphony Digital Inc
Camera Model - Gran Turismo 5 (I know some of this information is when you upload to Flickr, but I don't know if things like focal length are??)

However, as stated above, exporting to XMB trashes this information. I'll see if it is possible to export from the game directly to a USB device without also trashing this information. Otherwise, the only way I think you might be able to get it is by sharing photos and then accessing them via eu.gran-turismo.com ... maybe ...... possibly...

My pictures (exported to XMB) show this info just fine

Right click, Properties, details tab, scroll down to "camera".

Although this still doesn't explain if the standard car models have been indeed improved on slightly or not..
