Hi all big GT5 fans !!

I was just wondering if there will be a photo mode in GT5 and if someone of you could answer that question. I dont know if it is allready asked here.

would be awesome to have like 10 scenery's and where you can drive your car to a nice spot to shoot some pictures.

Like you see those small villages and towns in trailers.

I hope the release will be soon.

Yes. 8 megapixel (possibly even higher) output.

Those villages and towns are actual photo mode locations. That's why they made them. Not for 2 seconds in a trailer. ;)

damn, 8 mp :D.

thats the same as they post here on GTplanet newspage everytime.
Well yeah i know they also use it in gt5 prologue but, i want to drive true those streets you know small village cruising and looking for a nice spot to take a picture

You do realise that even a 1920 x 1080 TV is "only" 2mp? I therefore fail to see why anybody would need 8mp renders unless they want to print them out at a size to cover buildings... So GT5 gives you a lovely 8mp image that has to be massively reduced to make it visible on-screen in full. Again it's a case of people assuming quantity = quality, and that's rarely the case.

Haven't got a clue what I'm on about but maybe it's 4mp for each eye = 3D lol.

One of these locations needs to be a WalMart loading dock with graffiti everywhere and strobist styled lighting.

although technically, 1080p is near 2mp, how come a scaled down 8 mp camera shot looks better, ALOT BETTER than a 2mp shot, i personally dont know, but its PROOF that a 8mp shot in GT5 will look better than a 2 mp shot i think. (sorry for bad grammer and spelling and that, im tired and can't be botherd, just wanted to state a valid point quickly :) )

What you see on the screen in Photo Mode is just giving you the idea how the final photo looks like. Once you take a picture, the game/software will generate a high MP photo that will allow you to save it, so it has absolutely nothing to do with upscaling. In GT4, you can save Photo Mode images in 1280x960 even your TV is just standard definition.

Your right, one advantage of downsizing from a higher rez image is supersampling, a form of AA

Also, and it's a biggie for me, I can't remember the last time when a GT5 screenshot wasn't my wallpaper. I use a 27" iMac a lot of the time, and upscaling from 720p or 1080p is obviously going to be nowhere near the quality of downscaling an 8mp shot. So in this case, yes, quantity does equal quality, and plus you can zoom in on the fine details and impress your previously unimpressed friends.

Yeah, indeed :)
will be awesome, just a small village also for community with friends you know a small town or city just to cruise and make some very nice pictures.

If you want to do anything to them in photoshop, processing, compositing and the like then higher resolution is totally proportional to quality.

You can bet!! i remember in GT4 theres a lot (7 or 8) stages to take a pic, called "Photo travel", also you can take a photo during a lap called "Photo drive". I have hundreds of photos in GT4, thanks to PS3 i have like 3 memory cards full of photos.

So again, you can bet.:)

I would say, feel free to upload some GT4 pics to show what kind of photos you want to make in gt5 :)

I have some nice ones:sly: but i dont know how transfer it to the PC, i never try, i have to research how do it:)

I really liked the photomode in GT4, I used it a lot to shoot some of my favourite cars on the game and I would like the feature in GT5. Like some people have said on this thread that they would like to cruise looking for a nice spot to shoot in villages and towns, I would like that feature in too, to be honest.

I thought you could just put them onto a USB flash drive, or, if you're playing on PS3 put them on a memory card 👍

the slums.

Why not? Would make an interesting contrast or a surrealistic picture. ;)
I have spent some time in Photo Mode making slide shows but it always felt a bit sad and selfobsessive ( meaning PD ) although it offered a welcome distraction at least.
Hope i will like it more now as it's easier to share the results, as i was quite pleased with some of the pictures i made. :sly:

What I like about the GT5 photo mode is that it appears to render the final shot in crisp detail. Why don't other games do this? Imagine a GTA photomode where you can see all the detailed textures, pedestrians, cars etc etc as far as the eye can see. It would look incredible. The same goes for assasins creed with some of the high city shots.

Wow cruising around a place for a photo would be sick. I once got the chevy stingray race car and did a couple laps of drifting in Super Speedway and got an awsesome picture of the car drifting with tiresmoke and the exhausts spewing out flames.
