As you all know, 'The Realistic Photo' Thread is an extremely popular thread, as it's currently approaching 15 thousand posts. Although GT6 will not be released for quite some time, this thread will be dedicated to your hopes and wishes for photo mode in the new game as well as renders of tracks, car customization and mods, and the menu screens. And when the release of Gran Turismo 6 comes, we will have a new 'The Realistic Photo Thread' ready. 💡

-My Contribution-

Well, currently I hope that GT6 will fully incorporate the current, professional grade photo mode but with the addition of a few things.

-More specific [vehicle] lighting
-Maybe a car studio?
-A custom video mode
-Hue editor, saturation, things like that

If any mods have an issue with this thread just let me know. :)

The way the lens flare and vignetting effects are handeled now should be changed. The vignetting is in an automatic mode which alters using your aperture setting and focal length, which can be annoying sometimes. You can solve that by switching to black & white and back in photomode, except for photo travel where the vignetting always stays. Also, when switching to black and white the standard light lens flare gets and keeps muted after switching back, and when using the warm colour effect and switching back the lens flare is back, but more extreme.

Also, the interior photography being popular via glitching at the moment should be a sign for PD to implement that as an option in GT6.

I don't get why you called this "The Realistic Photo Thread" by the way, as the GT5 realistic photo threads are about actual pictures and not about wishes for the photomode.

-Maybe a car studio?
If such a location were to be included in GT6's Photo Mode I personally feel it should give the option, to take photos of multiple cars together at once. However I also feel this should be an option for all other Photo Mode locations. Being able to take a group shot of your favourite cars really would be something awesome! :D

Is photo mode confirmed then?
Very little has been confirmed yet, but why wouldn't it be included? We're all aware how much time & detail PD puts into every vehicle they model; Photo Mode is surely the most effective way for these efforts to be admired? After all it's as much about exploring each car up close and personal, as it is taking photos.

We know absolutely nothing about Photomode in GT6, other than it's most likely going to be included (can't see PD dropping one of their most popular features).

This smells more of a "OMG FIRST!" sort of thread, just to say that it's been created, since there's absolutely no real content to include in it at this point, just another wish list...

Liking the responses so far. Multiple cars in a studio or track, (some AI controlled driving, possibly) would down right cool. I made this thread late at night and im not too sure why i titled it "The Realistic Photo Thread" either. Maybe I was thinking "What ways could improve your current photos from GT5 in GT6's, possible photo mode." I'll remove the extra bit as soon as I get a computer. :)

EDIT: Done :)

💡 What would I welcome: 💡

* to be able to walk through the replay frame after frame (not just pause <-> unpause) as well as the option to directly select a lap to skip into,
* an option to save pictures in different format than JPG (for example a 16bit TIFF would be nice - better image quality for post-processing),
* also rendering to a higher resolution would be appreciated (again helps for post-processing plus allows to make prints of reasonable size)
* the camera could remember settings like aperture etc. (I always struggle whith camera changing aperture on its own between shots)
* to be able to save camera position and settings (for example I select a car, go to a photolocation, freewalk to a place and set up a shot. This I could save and load later while beeing there with another car. The same for tracks)
* improvement to unrealistic and unusable panning 1 mode (camera is tracking a car from a fixed position by turning - just like real life shots are taken)
* on a track in free walk to be able to walk past the barriers
* and last but not least more focusing points and the option to focus manually

- better image quality for post-processing)
I like this. And it's got me going to. I wonder what the "megapixel" equivalent of GT5 photo mode is? Could it be the resolution of the screen, meaning a 1080p shot Is only about 3 megapixels? Can't be. But its a discussion.

Actually it can be up to cca 8 MPx (3840x2160 px) when you select "Magnification x2" in the camera option, but I'd appreciate something a bit larger, e.g. 16 MPx, which with a sharp picture can be used for A1 prints.

Ah. I see. But most shots are nearly unusable if any crop is applied.

So far I'm very happy with the features of the GT5 magic camera thing. There are only a few things I'd have.

1. The option to change the time in every track. Doesn't even matter if you can't change it to night as long as I can change the location of the sun! It is in the most inconvenient of places MOST of the time for me it seems. Often I'd want a certain object to be in the background of the car and then the sun comes and ruins the side of the car I wanna take cause it's against the sun. Happened too many times for me!

2. The option to place lights/flash around in photo travel. OR the option to change the time of day once again.

Shadows like to ruin pictures! Its not even because they are jaggy sometimes, but because they darken up features of the car and makes it harder to make a car look good.

Other than that even if they don't change anything I'll be fine with that too :)
