I seem to be very over my head currently. I've been trying to make racing standards look more realistic with photoshop (gimp), one problem is I've never used any photo editing further than crop in the past. I'd like to make the fender gap's look alot better and clean up the choppy edges and shadows. I'd also like to alter my colors of track, paint depth and debris/smoke. Any tip's on any of this? If it's almost impossible let me down gently lol.

Did you try the Tutorials from the community? My smoke clean up one will help you with panel gaps and jaggies, since the basic principle is the same. As for colour, look into the stickied tutorial by gtsomething, or Moglet's, as both focus on realism.

Thank you SlipStream the only tutorial I saw was the taking photo's thread by gtsomething, somehow missed the thread with "tutorial" right in the name.
