Photo travel image quality - 720p/1080p

So, I've searched everywhere for an answer to this, but couldn't find it - I've been playing with screen resolution and have gone down from 1080p to 720p.... And that's all good, the game feels more vibrant and fast. But I also like to take those pictures of my cars in photo travel... So my question is, will I loose significantly picture quality in my photo's, after I've gone down in resolution to 720p?

In logic way, I understand that there would be a change, but is enough to have to go change settings/resolution everytime? Hope you understand where I'm heading with this question... :)
 
It would take the picture in 1080p, however I believe you would only be able to view it in 720p
