Yesterday was my 30th Birthday so I thought I'd start the day off by taking a trip to Gaydon Motor Heritage Museum, just down the road from the Aston Martin and Jaguar-Land Rover HQ's. Its a great place to spend a few hours wandering round, if you're ever in the UK and near the Midlands I'd recommend a trip there.

I thought some of you might appreciate some of the cars on display so here's a link to the pictures I took. I got chance to see some of the real life versions of the cars from Gran Turismo. Hope you enjoy viewing them.

Here's some of the good ones!

This is actually the XJ220 concept car which was fitted with a V12 rather than the production V6.

Nice, I'm assuming that's the XJ13? Also love the shorter wheelbase XJ220 prototype, however I did some research on this a while back and gathered whilst it was intended to house a V12, even these prototypes had something a bit smaller? Was there some info that proved otherwise? Would love to think at least one (I think there was a red one too unless it was repainted) had a V12 :)

Yes its the XJ13. Well I can't remember if the information plaque had the info about the engine but one of the photos is of the engine bay and I'm pretty sure there are 12 cylinders in there. Funny how there were a couple of drip trays underneath it too  I think you can just see them in one of the pictures.

What's the MG that looks like an MX5 crossed with a Cerbera?

MG DR2, or PR5 as it's now known. I think they used a TVR S Series as a base for that working prototype?

Good pics. I go every year, normally in August for the BMW car club festival, but I'll normally have a wander inside too. I'm wondering what is up with the Phantom though... lowrider?

You'll probably know better than me on the MG, we had a screaming kid hurrying us round so I didn't get chance to read everything

Yeah I did wonder about the Phantom myself. Looks like it's riding on airbags at full deflation!
