I have seen some seriously good talent from the guys here using photoshop but there is something i need to be able to do and i cant find a tutorial or a subject about it....

youre great with manipulating cars but is it possible to wrap text around a car to look as if it has a decal....you know the thing, just use the text tool on photoshop and curve it round the contours of a car body....over the hood and along the side...effectively making your own advertisements on the car..?

any help on this would be greatly appreciated

cheers

It's not that easy really and most of the time comes out looking bad. Either try using Filters/Render/3D transform or search the net for a good 'displacement map' tutorial

oops. lol. i posted something meant for another board.

you can always try to liquify very carefully.

No.

I thought I posted a tutorial on this earlier. Maybe I posted it in the wrong thread..

Just type the text and curve and cut where needed. Use gradients to make shadows in vent in the car.

Yeah I reckon that's just about be the go, Giancarlo. I was thinking on the same lines myself...

thanks fo rthe help folks...i was also thnking along the same lines....i a just lazy and thought there maybe a trick...

TurboSmoke: I'm moving this to the Digital Art Help forum for you.

You could probably align your text along a vector path, but I don't know how to do that in Photoshop.
