Here's the challenge.

The aim is, to brush up and show other people how they can still make something out of their pictures, of wich they gave up hope on.
And offcourse you can make a little mark yourself by fixing someone else's disappointments into very beautifull pictures.

So hope it catches on to the people here in the forum ^^
We'll see, and otherwise it's just another one of those threads making their way down to the bottom towards thread-graveyard. :p

---

Here's how it works:

The providers

Pretty much everyone can do it.
Everybody posts up their pictures in here of wich they gave up hope for.
You know them, those pictures you snap with beautifull composition
and then in photoshop, it turns out to be one of those disappointers you just can't do anything with.

Note:
Every post meant as challenge for the others, should include the original picture.
And your problems with the picture you had yourself.

The challengers

It's basically anyone out there thinking "someone lost their hope for
this pic just a little too soon". And then picks up the challenge and posts
his result here on the forum when he thinks he got a worthy result.

Note:
Every result the challengers post up, should be posted up with the original image,
the end result offcourse, and preferably a little explaination on how he/she pulled it off.

And maybe if a single picture proves to be the toughest of them all.
Then it's gonna get a place in the first post or something called The Number 1.
Offcourse it has to get going first.

Offcourse it's going to leave a good impression on the people you fix the pictures for ;)
And I think it will definatly help to transferr some of the styles through the forum.

And to start it off I got a picture already (and my inspiration for this thread ;) )
Sorry for it being a TT pic, I'll change the example later on into a car from GT4.

Normal picture:

And with the subject blurred:

Two pictures the challenger can chose from, I'm curious.
I couldn't get anything out of the coloring to be honest. It just wouldn't work
and even in black in white it's not really that good.
Though I thought it could become a nice suprise when I saved it to my USB stick.
Just not the suprise I hoped for I guess :p

Good luck people! 👍

Shouldn't this be posted up in the Photomode Competitions forum?

My 2 cents. I consider this a photo thread for all, and not exactly a competition. I guess it's up to individual interpretation 💡

Regardless of where it ends up, its a bloody good idea, Niels. I can't wait to see what pictures people are resurrecting from the dead :)

Well it's full of personal galleries in here but there have been themed-threads in here for specific cars or whatever for a long time :)

But I'm curious if it's gonna turn out to be something.

Here's my challenge;

I think it's a great picture and has an interesting look and feel. I just wacked a bucket of contrast on to get this effect and later tried to clean it up......yet it looked very very bad- I wiped out all reflections :shame:

I'm looking for an experienced photoshopper to have a crack at evolving this pic into something more then what it currently is, with full credit to the eventual editer.... hell they can put it in their gallery as far as I'm concerned :)

Do you still have the original?
Maybe it's worth to completely try over again.
Cause I don't think it was such a horrid pic at first.

It just doesn't have anything to work on anymore with all this black.

Edit:

Dodge Tool to get some more brightness in some reflecting areas, Burn Tool to make some spots a bit darker again, saturation down alot. Then contrast up alot. Some noise and a border.
The lack of pattern and structure means to me that I should add noise.
I always do that when I see those 2 problems. I use it in general to create a cool effect on my pics as well so I'm not uncommon with it.

But this has been solved with completely my style. I thought I would have to use a different approach to the difficult pictures.
I wonder if it's possible. Can somebody make something completely different out of this one?
