Hi,
Those questions are mainly to all the GT5P Europe (pre)-owners because JP is not yet updated (I hope for you that it will :) )
I know that a lot of questions and comments was regarding the above 2 issues but I wanted to open up a new thread to summaries all the current known information regarding this, and when the EU game will probably have lot of more information.
So I wanted to know (and I guess that some others also) more specific details about the physics and the AI in the game.

Regarding the physics: In Pro mode, how the physics is handling the drive? Does it come close to real life or other simulations (e.g. GPL)?
For example - if you drive 200Kmh and hit a wall with your front corner of the car - does the car spins like it should or is it just stops, you hit the gas and go? More info like this will be great full.

Regarding the AI: We all know that the AI in previous games was not very smart to say the least.
So how is the new AI? According to the movies it shows that at least they are not driving on the same line exactly. But does the "drivers" makes mistake? Do they try to overtake each other even if you are behind and not involved? As a driver, do you feel that the AI is now closes to human or still far behind?

Very interesting tread, y want know too if the physics feels so realistic :)

2 more days to get my GT5 Prologue copy, arrrg!! :scared:

I'm wondering how far off the GT5P physics are from HD Concept demo, which I've been playing for six months now while waiting for this weeks game.

A LOT. They are so much better.

Pro physics requires you to be on your toes and work the brake and throttle very well to succeed in doing anything. To much throttle after braking for a corner with a FR car and you'll spin like a merry-go-round. Brake like the average gran turismo driver and you'll cry when you press the reverse button for the 15th time in the 3 lap race.

Seriously, pro physics requires at least some knowledge and experience with the car you're driving and knowing what'll happen if you press the throttle too hard isn't a drawback.

Granted I'm not very talented when it comes to GT games(but how do I press brake when I press the gas?!+1+1one), I for one think pro physics are a bit too much at the moment for me to handle.

Regarding the AI:
It's not incredible, but certainly improved. They can spin off(rarely but it happens), overtake eachother(although it seems a bit coded when, where and who is doing the overtaking).

I didn't play GT4 much but I did play GT3 alot and judging from that the AI is way better. For example; There isn't 15 cars going 20 metres from eachother in a long line anymore. Some find the apex and are harder to catch, some overdo it and squirts up dust so you(because it's of course YOU who get behind those ''guys'' all the time:)) can't see what's going on. Some spin out a bit, have seen it some times not all the time though.

I'm not saying the AI is perfect because it certainly isn't when you try to sneak infront a car on the outside and it won't adjust for you i.e it does it's thing not caring if you shoot off into the sandtraps, but overall it's pretty OK.

Also in the higher level events like A class and S class, the drivers are generally better drivers and drives a bit smoother making them harder to catch. Atleast I get the impression that they are... :p
