MS Office is ... OK. If you're not doing any database connectivity or built in functions with it you may want to check out ThinkFree. It's only $50 and it does a lot of the MS Office stuff in the same format.

No macros, which can be a good thing, and I'm not sure about the others. I'm sure it has a merge function. The biggest problem we had was its inability to do database connects. We do lots of things where we pull data from a database and smack it into a form. Sort of a merge, but done with databases.
