Can anything be done to remove the ability to include pictures in quoted posts? It's a bit annoying when i'm looking through a thread and i see the same 700x700 pixel picture seven times because people are quoting the message it was included in. Not enough people have enough common sense to remove the image code embedded in the quote.

I just figured i'd see what other people think.

I've also been irritated by this for many years, but there is no reliable way to deal with it at this time.

That would not work out very well. If someone is commenting on a specific picture rather than all of them or the other way around, you wouldn't know which he was commenting on.

Well i guess that settles that. Thanks for the reply.

That's hardly a situation that happens very often. The majority of the time, the images are part of posts that on their own would have been perfectly fine (in terms of distinguishing what the quoted post is talking about).

Case in point here, with Joey's truck picture: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=33756&page=489

I agree it would be nice, but as Jordan said there's no easy way of doing that.

Speaking of which, I hate when people quote a post with several pics, and only give a short response.

It takes about 2 seconds to delete the code, people are just lazy.

It has buged me for along time as well :(

When I run across it, I usually edit the quoted pictures out. Hopefully people will get the hint.

👍 It's just a case of better forum etiquette education.

Sometimes you need to quote the picture for your own reply to make sense, especially if the post you are quoting is now on a previous page. Even then it's better just to post a single relevant picture and edit out the code for the rest.

Agreed. Very occasionally I like to include a pic with a quote so that what I'm typing makes sense, but at the same time, I'll never quote every single pic if someone's posted a long line of them.

Perhaps as a preventative measure there should be something included in one of the forum stickies about it? Not that people would read them...

Same here. It's just plain lazy to not do it that way.

If I don't want the picture in my quoted post I just delete it's code so it doesn't show up. It's up to the poster to go through and get rid of what they don't want to quote. It can be a pain, especially when there are lots of pictures, but I don't think people do it enough.
