Met up with some people off the internet tonight. Kid named Tim with a black '98 Cobra from modularfords.com Guy named Jeff with a dark shadow grey '03 Cobra from svtperformance.com & modularfords.com. We met up at Hooters at 8:00. Talked for about 15 minutes before Jeff had to leave for work.:irked: Then me and Tim decided to go eat at Sticky Fingers instead of Hooters because it was so damn busy. As we ate, a friend of his called, and said he'd meet us there. Blah blah blah, we drove back to Hooters to Tim's car, and his friend was there in a 4.6l GT. He's running a 175 wet shot(:eek:). Said the bottle was filled, warmed, and ready to go. A friend of the kid with the GT had a white Chevelle, or some **** - didn't really pay attention. Said it had a mildly built 350.

Anyhoo, we shot the **** for a few, than took it to River's Ave. Did 5 or 6 quick runs. Only 2 videos turned out worth a ****.

The first video is from about a 35-40 roll to 70. I missed third, so we shut it down. It was filmed by Tim in the '98 - later told us he was freaking out trying to hold the camera still, keep it focused, and drive all at the same time.:lol:


The second video is from a stop. My first time ever launching the car. I was scared ****less, but surprised the hell out of myself. Later on he told me he was shocked as hell I launched that hard too. This time it was filmed from inside the GT by the dude's girlfriend. At the end you can see me taunting the kid in the big white boat.;)

God damnit. For some reason it keeps posting a space between the "?" and "fileid..." in the video links. There isn't a space before I hit submit, but it's there in the post.:confused:

Damn, that ***** hooks up! A bit hard to see, but I messed with the brightness, and it was clearer.

And that was on the factory F1's. Can't wait to see what some 315 Nitto DR's will hook like. Yeah, sorry for the dark, ****ty videos. I've always *****ed about how I hate night videos so much, but I had to take what I could get. This was filmed with my Dad's Minolta Dimage S304, by the way. As you can see it's just a regular digital camera, with the ability to take video if needed. Sucks ass for what I use it for. All that's done to it is a larger storage card(128mb, as opposed to 16).


Oh, and stfu! It's the camera's fault!:D

175 shot of Nos in a 4.6L, I can only imagine how much damage is being undertaken in the engine bay.

For how much he probably spent on the 175 shot, he could have bought a supercharger, which A) lasts longer in a race and B) doesn't completely **** your car.

I honestly don't remember. I would like to say somewhere between 1,800 and 2,000 while slipping the clutch a lot. There was the tiniest little bit of spin in first. I was amazed. Usually it just hops & spins like **** if I give it any kind of throttle in 1st.

I'd like to get some 315 Nitto DR's for these 10th anniv. wheels, or some 335 Nitto DR's for my 18x10.5 AFS '03 Replica's. Combined with some H&R SS springs, polyurethane IRS bushings, and some other ****, and this thing would be an absolute beast from a stop.

Tonight was a very good night. I was impressed, and so was everyone else. Couldn't be any happier right now!

He's been running it for 3 years. Said he's been through over 30 bottles, car never smokes, compression is fine across the board, and has no problems with it. Alll he has is a bigger fuel pump, and injectors, I believe.

Well, he did have one problem with it. During one run tonight some intake tube on his **** blew off when he had a nitrous backfire. It was the loudest noise I've ever heard. It happened right after my traction control kicked in from a stop, so I wasn't sure if it was me, or him at the time.:lol:

Very strong car, though. I'm definitely getting a nitrous kit soon now. Nothing big - just a 40-50 shot.


And I used to run nitrous in a WS6. 150 wet shot. Never had a problem until I hit fuel cut without a safety switch.:banghead:
 
hmm, im not a real fan of nitrous, mainly because you have to keep refilling the bottle, but a 40-50 shot would be a nice addition when you wanted it.

I'm not a real big fan either, but it can really do wonders on these Cobra's. From what I've seen a 40 shot adds about 35-40 rwhp, and about 100ft/lb of tq!:eek: It's ridiculous!

It is expensive, though. A basic kit if $5-700, then there's remote bottle openers, window switches, bottle warmers, WOT switches, fuel pressure safety swithces, re-fills, etc. That's like $1,500+ right there. For $1,800-$2,000 more I could just buy a KB Blowzilla S/C, and make over 600rwhp all day long, everyday.:cool:
