OK, so I bought an Evo VI RS, and cranked it up to be a little beast. I was expecting some competition.

I won the Beginner 4WD cup. I was totally sandbagging. I even took the turbo upgrades back off the car to level the field a bit. I was hotdogging, following the field to watch their lines, touch-n-go practice passing the same cars over and over again, etc. Trying to drive very consistently for smoothness. I crossed the finish line in reverse for one race.
So then I went to the Beginners Evo Meeting. I didn't bother to qualify; just started at the back. Again I was expecting competition that just wasn't there.
What I didn't expect was getting pecked to death by ducks !
The Evo drivers are total lunatics! Every time I was near them, they dogpiled on me in every corner. I got spun more than once by somebody packing my fudge halfway into a corner, and then bombarded by all the dimwits charging up behind. Half the time the leader would run hugely wide on the exits, carom off the armaflex, and zoom back into the pack, scattering the other cars like pigeons.
It was total pandemonium. It was a lot of fun, but it was pandemonium. If the SCCA was sanctioning this series, they'd all get their comp licenses suspended. They need precision driving lessons from the Yaris/Vitz pilots...
