Hi everyone,

Pininfarina family to sell majority stake in business, possibly to Tata

It looks like Tata could have Pininfarina! NONONO!! How appealing would this be?

"Oh hey look it's the Tata XJ25!" And I guess you could make the Tata bit as saying "ta ta!"

Well I kinda think I overrated it a little bit.

So what does GTP say? Link to autoblog article:CLICKIE

A good friend of mine and automotive designer has worked personally with Ratan Tata, the Chairman of the company on more than one occasion in the past and has had nothing but praise for him and his company - apparently he is an amazing guy. I wouldn't be downhearted if this happened.

Anyway, Pininfarina have not only designed exotic cars. The following also come from the design studio; Mitsubishi Pajero, Volvo C70, Peugeot 306 Cabrio and the mighty Daewoo Lacetti!

Great news as long as the cars don't smell like curry. Oh god that was so racist.

Pininfarina have been working on small, electric economy cars for literally decades, I don't see how this would be bad for either business. There's more to Pinin that drawing stupid-sexy supercars.

^Say what you want, but none of you can handle spicy south indian cuisine!

I was raised on curries thanks to my father being a big fan of them. No Korma or Rogan Josh for me, it was a minimum of Madras or Vindaloo in heat levels, and this was when I was 7yrs old. 👍 So it was a big shock to the Indians (Punjabs mostly) I used to telemarket with when I could hang with them anytime they brought the lunchtime "feast" in from home. ;) And yes, I had no worries sticking my right hand in there to grab food either.

You all just think that us white boys can't handle a bit of spice, that's all. :p:D:D:D

^My mom is from Hyderabad, and makes good food compared to the rest of my family. Truth be told, none of my white friends can handle the stuff, while my latin and asian friends can.

308, Modula, Daytona, 250, Testarossa, Mondial, 599, Nano??
Pininfarina don't only desingn exotics, they have designed plenty of everyday cars as well and will contnue to do so. Besides, selling the majority stak to Tata wouldn't spell the end of them being a design house other companies can use.

I just associate them with Ferrari, and admittedly didn't know they designed very much for other people
