Pit crash - La Sarthe B Spec

Correction: Spa track not Sarth. So I am sitting #2 when I enter the pits @ end of 7th lap when driver behind me gives me a tap and spins me side ways. Since everyone was pitting it was a major pile up which jammed my car and my driver couldn't extricate from for at least 2 minutes. Meanwhile driver 1 is almost all the way around the track before I exit pits. To make matters worse my driver was so panicked he never stopped in pits so had to make mandatory stop on lap 8. Finished 10th. Crazy.

Btw I am winning this race with one stop using the Mobil 1 NSX.

I saw the exact same thing happen on my race once. Bizarre! I had to quit

I saw this happen to the AI when they were pitting in front of me on Lap 7. Made me laugh. Luckily, I didn't pit. Ran the whole race on Intermediates.

But it did catch my attention from the kitchen - the sound was wrong, all high revs and frantic - I initially thought the seals had gone on the Takata's turbo!!! (anyone who has been driving when the rubber seals on the turbo fail will know exactly what I mean!)

In one race the 2nd place AI Yellowhat GT-R got bumped into pit wall. Jammed up the whole pack while lead GT-R ran away. After 30 secs the Yellowhat manage to go into Ghost Mode and righted itself in the pitlane, race resumed.

Excellent! That is exactly how it looked. Only difference is I had 10 cars piled up on me, and I think that is why it took almost 2 minutes to extricate. They all seemed to be trying to force themselves by me. That's a lot of pressure!

Same thing happened to my race. my bob was in the lead and when he came through the s bend the camera panned around for a couple seconds to reveal the whole pack had piled up in the pit lane entry, i thought my eyes were lying to me because the camera panned so quick i didn't get a good look...should have saved the race and replayed it.

I'm tempted to re-race Spa to see if it will happen the second time around. The first time I only pitted once and I was in the lead before the first pit stop.

don't hold your breath on that. I have raced it 20 times and it just happened that once. I should have saved the replay but I was too pissed.

Spa track I get the lead by lap 5 and pit in first place on end of lap 7 use same tires, then on the next lap I just cancel pit stop on 8 and 9 won by 20 seconds. and yes I did have a jam up one time (not same race) going into pits, but I was like 7th place at the time.

My first try on Spa was very funny. I used the Lambo Diablo NOMAD with my level 23 bob. I set him on hard tyred and started the race straight away.

Bob did great at first to 3th place, but went all the way back to last place with some spins on his hard racing tyres. He was so far behind, no way he would win....

Thanks for the last pitting of the cars.....piled up just as above......and won the race.....it was hilarious.

My friend raced it last night and I warned him of the possibility that the crash could happen. He didn't pit and the crash happened so he saved the replay and I'm going to see more evidence.

I was rolling when I saw that as well. I don't pit with the others because I am not called to pit with them, guess it is because of my luck on the tune with that particular car. (My brother used it and smoked them with a level 1 driver) He is still amazed at how well that car drives.

No incidents yet at the entry... apart from the occasional AI bashing, kind of like that Petronas Lexus above. Never intentional, I just ask myself if the AI would do the same to me... and they have. Most of the tie-ups happen on pit road itself I find, while going in and out of stalls. Last night though, I appeared to 'swallow' a car as I exited my box. The cockpit shook from the contact, but when I looked back he wasn't there any longer. That was a weird one... will save my replay next time 💡

Same thing happened on mine. I think its lead to my bob winning. Without pitting he would be stuck back in 9th place. Always passes but never closes them off losing the place and many seconds straight after! GRRR

I saw it happen, I believe multiple times.

Because of this I am terrified to pit at the same time as the AI on this track.

But if you stay away from them, you do get a gift sometimes.

Yup...me too, was in 4th, 1st got bumped by 2nd and went sideways, by the time the melee was over i was in 12th....and not very happy about it....but what the heck all 6 of my bobs have won it so many times ive lost count...saved the replay its a hoot to watch over from different car views

Ye, I use the no pit method (sports soft) all the time, seen the pit lane blocked for more than a lap before lol, glad I don't pit on lap 2 or 3 in this race

I've tried the sport softs and it doesnt work!
Considering racing hards are available why would you use sport hards!
Standard 600pp Honda NSX mobil 1 with intermediates on and you don't need to pit!
You will lap the backmarkers

That is extremely funny and I'm glad it was recorded for all to see.

It's true, no pitting is necessary if you take it easy using intermediates. I wish I had tried hards to see if the car would stay on the track in the rain but it just slipped my mind. I'm sure it would have since the Le Sarthe race started with RH and I could run for one lap longer when the other's pitted without much of a problem except for a slowdown of pace. At Spa, I probably would have had to keep hitting "no pit", though.

I wish they were stuck there for good, but after about 15-30 seconds the stuck car "ghosts" into a proper position and continues down pit road. Alas, with the event over we can no longer laugh at the miscues of the AI that has possibly not been seen since GT4 with the FGT at Laguna Seca.
