Just trying to find out if anyone else is having problems using the pits during an online race? We run a weekly race that means we have to pit at least once during the race. There's normally between 7-10 people in a race. When it comes to stopping the times are just so random. We've have two racers stop ten seconds apart but there's been a difference of at least 20 seconds between them both getting going again, sometimes with the guy who came in second getting out first! Before you say it's the amount of fuel, it's not. We only stop for tyres.
Is it something we're doing wrong or is it the game?
Any help would be much appreciated.

Why don't you save a replay and then go into it and see which parts of the stop are holding up the cars or making the pit stops go faster.

On many tracks if you enter the pit lane too fast, there is some sort of hidden penalty system which keeps you in the pits after the tires have been changed.

We had the same issue in the race series I take part in, the solution is to slow down right before the autopilot mode takes over.

This.

There seems to be some sort of in-built stop-go penalty, probably to stop people doing 1 billion miles an hour into pit entry.

As ever, thanks for the help guys. This will help going forward.
The only question now is do I tell the other competitors.......?

...great video. I had similar issues with losing time in a pit stop and was searching for an answer.

Do you know if the ability of your pit crew is affected by your A-Spec rating also?

Speeding into the pits will lengthen your pit stop. Excessively speeding into the pits will put you right back at the entrance. Rarely will entering the pits unsafely will cause you to be unable to pit for a certain amount of time.

It is also possible that if you enter too quickly, it will put you straight through without stopping at your pit box (try this at Daytona where the pit lane doesn't line up with the entrance). Anyone done any testing for pit length refuel times? I reckon you can get 12 litres in during tyre change but not sure how long it takes to add more fuel??
