Pit stops in B-Spec

I've heard alot of people talking about doing 24hr races in B-spec while they are gone. When I did a race in B-spec when it came time to pit the car would pull in but just sit there until I okayed the work to be done. So my question is, how does your car make a complete pit stop when you're not there to okay it?
Thanks for any help.

The pit options should usually Ok themselves after a few seconds of waiting, but there seems to be a bug where the car sometimes sits in the pits forever waiting for a response. That happened to me during my last 24h attempt, where I waited in the box for over 20 minutes and lost five laps.

This has been covered before, and you could've found it by search... but I'll say it again. I've never had a bug problem where my B-spec guy just sits in the pit. BUT! I've noticed that if you start an endurance race in A-spec, then switch to b-spec after you pit, then when your driver pits, it'll sit there. On the other hand, if you start a race in B-spec, he'll pit for you. Feel free to switch between A-spec and B-Spec. I ALWAYS start an endurance race in B-Spec, so I can avoid this "sitting in the box like an idiot" problem.

Sorry, I should've searched but I was at my girlfriends house when I posted that and she was making fun of me the whole time.
She said " Oh my god, when your not playing Gran Turismo your sitting on the computer looking stuff up about it." :dopey:

But thanks for the help. I did start them in A-spec then switched over.

After 3 seconds of the car sitting there without doing anything, the default settings are automatically chosen.

So yes, you do make longer pit stops by about +3-5 seconds.

what if i start the enduro in b-spec and then i turn off the tv and leave for a few hours? will the driver pit itself whtn i run out of fuel or tires?
i read somewhere that a person ran out of gas during an enduro cuz the bspec guy didnt pit in. :P

yes, your b-spec driver will pit for you.

and usually your tires will go bad before you run out of gas, and b-spec automatically fills your gas tank every time he pits.

that is so great i have utilized it in about 6 races so far, i remember last year this time setting at a tv with bloodshot red eyes. lol when i did my endurance races i never took eye breaks

I found that if you start in A-spec and switch to B-spec it only waits in the pit on the first pit stop after switching. If you complete the first B-spec pit then it will auto pit after. This is how it has worked for me so far, but I haven't done all the races this way so can't be sure. :dopey:

Just think of it as a pit stop complication

Girlfriends.......

o ok so i can just put on b spec and walk away? also will they pit if i put on 3x mode? CAN i put on 3x mode on bspec safely (ie such as the guy pitting etc).

i would try, but im not up to 25% yet

There is a guy on Honda-Tech claiming that his GT-4 stays in 3x mode the entire time hes racing. *waves the BS flag*

If he's claiming that, he got either VERY lucky with this then, it is a setting you can adapt, he didn't notice it was on 1x instead of 3x:dunce:, or he's just talking crap all over the place. I think the last one.............

Lol, BS flag.

I like it.

I do have to agree tho, would be nice if it did stay x3.

Im about to do my first endurance race, grand valley looks pretty short, 60 laps, no problem! :sly:

i'm doing 24hour at the ring right now, it's really annoying, every 5 laps i'll have to speed up to 3x again :(

Now THAT'S what I'm talking about, what the hell is the point for speeding up time?!!!:banghead:

It should be fine, but be careful how agressively you set the pace. I usually set it to cruise or steady before I let it go.

This is what happened to me one time in an enduro race at the 'Ring when I was just learning about b-spec: I had the pace set at either 4 or 5 and didn't have the driver get a full tank of gas at every pit. When the tires started to wear, the car go really squirrelly and he overshot the pit entrance. Well, he did another lap and the tires got worse so the second time around he overshot it again. By this time the tank was almost empty. I had already set the pace to 1 but the tires were so bad it was like he was on ice. Just past half way through the lap he ran out of gas and that forced him to go slow enough so that he could make the entrance. He ended up pitting 3 laps late (on a 5 lap pit interval).

Anyway, he's got more points now so less likely to overshoot the pit entrance.
