I plan on running the Indy 500 this weekend which will be my first A spec enduro. I was wondering how pit stops work. Do I have to drive the car down pit road or is there a menu that pops up when I am close to needing to stop? Any heads up would be appreciated.

You'll have to drive into the pit lane, the computer will do the rest until you're back out of the pit lane. For Indy you don't have to worry much about slowing down either, just head straight in.
 
I noticed quicker pit stops if you enter at 50mph or below instead of just rushing in full speed.
 
A fuel fill up will keep you in the pits longer too. Try to put in what you'll need to reduce pit time.

I do believe they automatically give you the suggested fuel required to finish the race

You're correct. I have never yet seen them suggest more than is needed.

Indeed, second guessing the pit crew and going for a short-fill can leave you high and dry a lap or two before the end of the race. It's happened to me.
 
It always seemed to give me 1 or 2 liters under what my full tank would hold at mid-24 hour distance. Still puzzled as to why.
