Play GT5 with that RPG element in it.
Play the new Simulation, play the: REAL LIFE SIMULATION

What?
A Role Playing Game that simulates Real Life.

When?
Whenever I'm available on PSN and on GT5.

Where?
My Lounge, or a specificied Open Lobby Room. (will be specified, if needed, on the thread)

Who?
COOLfiat555 will host it, 15 people at once.

Why?
I always had this dream for a room to simulate the real life, the challenges and all of it.

How?

Rules:

Section 1 The basics

1. You choose a car
1.1 That car must be road legal
1.2 Furthermore, that car must be found in your local Used Car Magazine/Classifieds
1.3 Your car must be under 50,000 credits of value in-game or in Real Life (Ignore whichever comes first, use second price... eg. A TT 3.2 '02 here might cost 15,000 dollars in real life, but 53,000 in game... Ignore the one which breaks the rule, use the price which is under 50,000)

2. You decide on a budget
2.1 Your budget will be decided only after you have posted on this thread
2.1.1 Your post will include:
  • The receipt of your purchase (date+time+price+brand and model+year)
  • Your specified character name and birthdate
  • Your "annual income" (in-game, please be reasonable)
  • (opt.) Family background, history, race or ethnicity
  • (opt.) An introduction to your fellow mates which will be driving along in the same room as you.
  • (opt.) a picture of the advertisement of your car in real life on the classifieds/used car magazine
2.2 That budget can be decided with me (preferrably) or by yourself, but in the end you have to report to me to progress to your final stage
2.3 The budget will include planned upgrades to your vehicle, any repairs, and any unrelated expenses (license fee, insurance, cost of living)

3. You get a license
3.1 Two options for license:
  • Normal driving instructor and standard driving school (books and everything will be provided after you have PMed/posted the afore-mentioned First Post) {250 cr.}
  • Skip Barber Racing School (also with 2 options) {2000-4000 cr.}
  • opt. 1 Standard in-game license (bronze pre-requisite)
  • opt. 2 Thorough (gold or silver in-game license, and online driving school [somewhere in the online racing sub-forums])
3.2 Of course, the more credits it cost for the license the more things will become available later on in your life :grin:

4. All transactions are in Credits (also known as Cr. , creds, etc.)

My first post said I was confused, to be honest mate I am still kind of struggling.
Do you actually send me books?
What if I fail my licence?
What do you do when you are all "racing"?

I will give it to you though this is a very unique series buddy :)

The books are more like the rules, what do you do in that course, what rules should you obey... though not quite as complete as the real thing, I will combine elements from the Canadian Driving License training book and my own brain...
You cannot fail the license test, just ask questions... it's more like theory oriented, but with 10 mins of On-Site driving practice... In all I just want to see if you actually understand the rules. I will correct you... No pressure.
My rule is: If you don't want to do it to yourself don't do it to others.
Example: I will not put you under pressure, and tell you that you have a very big and important test... NO SUCH THING... NO TEST + NO PRESSURE = What I like ;)

On the track you just drive around and go to places... for example: I drive my Nissan Primera 2.0Te (sorry, I'm in love with this ride :P) to the Meat Shop @ Madrid, go to my designated appartment/house. I get money from working (rush hour included! :O) at the gas station (Pit Stop = Gas Station, Bodywork Shop... etc. If you have any more ideas please tell me them!) and I get say 100 cr. for the day, I might buy an Air Filter from your store, which might just employ you! Then your manager (you can be it if you're lucky enough :P) pays you more 'cause you sold more than yesterday...

First things first I know... but just to give an example...
Say you find a car on the classifieds, but it's exactly the same as in GT5 just the year is different? You are allowed, choose it...

Same Model (Trim level too)
Same Company (Nissan Primera = Infiniti G20)
Same Generation
Same Drivetrain
(Automatic Transmission is allowed for Manual Tranny cars and VICE VERSA)

Yes I know... It's just the idea... A concept car doesn't go directly into production :P
But yes, I need to review that and polish/refine it.
You could just do races and get like 1,000,000 in GT5, but divide that amount into your Real Life Simulation account for this Series' spending.
Other Ideas just hanging on the top of my head:
  • Available aftermarket parts...
  • Such as: Quaife Transmissions or Bridgestone Tires.. etc.
  • Police
  • Taxi and Bus
  • Politics
  • Fully Structured Social System and Chain of Command... lolwut??
  • ^ this... (getting a bit offtopic here :P)

I really don't get how you can have a job or have cops and I think GT5 and politics should never be mentioned together.:boggled:

You should try going out or even playing the Sims or Civilization when you get the real life urges lol. :)

I think GT is best for racing mate and in all honesty I can't ever see this idea becoming popular.
People usually play games to get away from Real Life... Not to start a new one.

However this is just my opinion don't hate me for it :rolleyes:

Wish you all the best with your idea mate, at least some people think outside the box 👍

And yes you may use the M3, but is it under 50,000 cr.??
 
I am pretty certain the M3 is not under 50,000. I will get on the lookout for a car under 50k and send you a link to any adds I find that are also in GT5. I will not have time to participate as I run a championship but if you need any help or anything just give me a PM,

I think the game is missing a few features to be able to support this sorda thing. I would love this to be in the game. An online RPG Sim Racer would be awesome! You'd have to pay for damage, new parts, racing gear, racing mods (roll cage, etc.), sign up fees for events, hell I would love to be able to race down city streets and see 2 cop cars behind me trying to pull me over and issuing me a ticket kinda like how MCLA did. Certain amount of time to pull over to get a ticket, after that you get arrested once caught. If I was Kaz, I would make GT6 on MMORPG Driving Sim, on the streets and on the track! And for income there would be all sorts of driving related jobs everyone can do, be a cop, delivery boy, mechanic, car thief, taxi driver, even a security truck driver (such as Brinks). And the goal would be to become a world renown race car driver at like level 90. At like level 70 you can join a race team as a crew member and rise through the ranks to eventually being a driver and get paid a lot to then becoming a crew chief which makes even more money (crew chiefs will be able to make their own teams and use their own money). As you level up you will be able to mod your car more and more and be allowed to sign up for smaller race events which last like 10-20 minutes and as you rank up, you get into more serious races and eventually become a Le Mans driver which could last as long as 5 hours but pays a lot more!

If PD decides to make a game like this I would wait 2 decades for it to come out because that is like my dream racing game right there! Sorry getting carried away.
