Play online and your cars remain new

I've been playing a lot online and I've noticed that every car that I use remains with same mileage, doesn't need any new oil or engine/chassis repair. What the hell is happening with PD? And I ve been wondering too, will the mileage that I do online ever count to my profile total mileage?
I don't like this at all... even more: I can't understand how the hell the used dealership refreshes when I go online. Sometimes it doesn't refresh at all, others, it has 30 new cars...

This has been that way for as long as I have been playing. Only when in an actual race does the car gain 'distance' while online. Free run does not affect the kilometres.
 
I've only played online 2 or 3 times before v2.0. Since then, I've been playing everyday and I love it. BUT, my cars are exactly the same as before-_-
 
Yes, after update 2.0 for some reason no mileage is added to my cars in online race’s and this obviously means no need for oil change ‘s either. Before 2.0 mileage for races were added and oil changing necessary. I think this will be fixed as it is now impossible to break in a car online.
 
Um... I put 173 miles on the RX-7 TC and 175 miles on the Challenger TC today. Performance points went down and climbed slightly higher after an oil change.
Are you guys sure that tire wear/fuel consumption were 'on' when you raced?
Edit to add: Those miles were from online races at Dayona.
 
Wow, I didn't even notice this. Just raced a bunch online and went and done oil changes like I usually do when I'm done racing for the night and didn't even notice the miles. It still let me do oil changes tho so I wonder if it is in fact putting miles on your car, just not showing it in the miles driven. I did notice my hp was down.

I've lost hp online, are you sure. This has happened since the 2.0.

I have a rally car with only 455 miles on it, and even after an engine and chassis refresh, my PP just keeps going down. I only use this car online, too...
 
hmm I always used my b-spec bob's to breake in my new cars.

Free run online never gained km on a car, race always did and I like it that way. I do host a championship in my room and this way I don't have to leave before the race to do an oil change. We usually do hours of free run before we start.

Don't see the problem, just set up a b-spec endurance race before going to bed at night and when you wake up the car is ready for you.

And only if you finish the race. ;)
If you quit out you get zero miles.

As said, not new at all, not even slightly.

I have four new NASCAR cars and been breaking them in, in online races, and they are being broken in so it still works.

However, this quote interested me. I am in the TOCA series and drive the Ford Focus. It got changed after race 1 to 'No Fuel/Tyre Wear' and ever since this I have not needed to change oil etc.

Is this a known thing because I have never read it before and am curious. I do go in every time to check the oil, but always says it's clean (or whatever it actually says), and always wondered why as am closing in on 1k miles I think.

This could also be why my car appears a little slower than the rest, and here's me with one race left :grumpy:
 
Keep in mind that if you do 10 laps of Spa in Free Run and then the host (or you) starts the race, the distance from the Free Run laps will count.

I noticed this after buying a new GT-R, free running, and then doing a 2 lap race at Spa. It had over 200km when I left.
