I just wanted to share with everyone how I play GT3. Right now I am completing the Amatuer League in Simulation and racing on the Seattle Circuit. The car I am using is the Vertigo Dodge Car. I am using the stock one with no mods. I start the 5 lap race from 6th and try to win the race from the back. Right now I can beat the other 4 cars except for the viper. With all the beating and banging going on (I try to aviod this as much as possible...darn AI runs into me!) the viper just gets away from me.... last race it was 12 seconds ahead, we are running the same lap times pretty much. This way the game is more challenging to me. Anyone else tried this...I may have to modify my car some...maybe stage one racing tires should do the trick:)

You mean Gillet Vertigo, don't you? And what race series are you running... a Vertigo race car in stock form should be able to trash any Viper expect the Oreca racer.

the vertigo comes stock with just over 400hp, the viper comes stock with about 439 (darn game, vipers are 450) anyway the vertigo is LOADS lighter than the viper, and is a race car to boot, so it should handle LOADS better too, if you can't beat that viper...i suggest doing the liscence tests over to try and harness your racing skills...for example taking the fastest line through the corners.

No I dont need to go and practice my license driving. I have completed all of the licenses, even the S one. In this race, the viper is not stock the red one with the stripes. I can run even with it or even a fraction better. Just with starting from the back makes it very difficult with no mods on my car. The car I am driving is the one I won from completing the racing series in the Amateur league. Looks to me that the viper has better tires than me also.

You're still not being very clear... are you racing against the Viper Concept or the Oreca Viper, they're both red with white stripes.

I'm still not sure which car you're driving, you'll have to describe it.

And which series are you racing in? GT All-Stars, American Championship, World Championship...?

Ducati: The Vertigo has 419 HP, the Viper GTS has 449. And as long as I've got the game running, the GTS-R Concept has 498, and the Oreca Viper has a few over 600 (I think). :D

i apologize for what i said....you just said viper so don't get mad at me....there is 3 vipers in the game, and i don't ever recall ever racing against an oreca or concept in the amateur league....the race you are talking about i remember racing againts the corvette C5R....and it was on seattle. Now the C5R and the viper oreca (which im assuming your talking about) are really evenly matched, and i remember beating the C5R with my stock vertigo race car, but i do remember it being a challenge.

now please, specify what exactly your racing against :p

:EDIT

Oh and maybe if you can run the same lap times like you said, why don't you try qualifying on T8 tires, this will most likely put you right where he is at LEAST, most often 1st place....then all you havto do is make sure he doesn't slip past you.

Sorry about the confusion, I am not at home now so i cant answer your question. I know that I am running on the Seattle Circuit on the Amatuer League. I think its the 3rd or 4th series in the Amatuer League. by the way, my best time on Tokyo R246? track is 1min32 seconds with the Vertigo car. So whatever Viper comes up in the AI cars is what it is, but I think its modded somewhat.

well i'll try to take the confusion off your back....

here is the Viper GTSR Team Oreca

I'm assuming that it's the top one, cuz i don't think the Concept is actually ever raced againsts all throughout GT3

anyway just like i said, try buying T8 tires (the really soft ones) and using them only for qualifying, then when the race starts go back to what you were using before...this way you will start at the front of the pack!

Actually Ducati, the Concept does replace the GTS in the Amateur Stars & Stripes Challenge sometimes if you use a high-powered car (like over 450 HP or so). I think I saw one in the Professional FR Challenge too.

millcreek: Third or fourth over... that must be the World Championship then, that has an Oreca Viper in it and Seattle is the 6th race. I think most of the challenge is from the mid-series power boost the AI cars are getting, if that's the case then yes, the Viper is "modded" somewhat. You should consider getting a Stage 1 NA Tune for the Vertigo and installing it after the 5th race, that'll keep it about equal.

Thanks Ducati, the Oreca Viper is it. I am actually now even more impressed with myself becuase that car has over 600 hp and mine has 419 with no mods and i can match or beat it barely with a perfect lap. I have one other problem even if i start on the pole the cars behind me pass me on the start because they have more HP.

thanks for your help.... continued Great Racing to ya!

wow blaze, i never thought the concept made an appearence! that's pretty cool, i've been following the real life timeline of all the vipers for years now, and have sat in the new SRT-10, but am still searching for a chance to see the one that's in GT3, the competition coupe!!
