Playing with setups!!

setups and modifying cars!!
to tell you the truth i played all three gt games, and swear to god i never tinkered with the settings of any car, exept for mitsubishi lancer evo 6 in gt2 :D , i had it in a setting that is so sweat, i don't know how i did it, maybe logically; but beleive me the car can go sideways on 2nd gear out of a corner and keep on going sideways for the next two gears without losing controle.
and the other car i modified in gt2 was escudo pikes peak! :D

as for gt1 and gt3(that i later returned but kept the memory card)
i never changed setuos in them.!! :p

i achieved 98.60% in gt2 without setups just by modifying and tha't it :D .

so guys do you think modifying without setup changing and winnig is enough of a challenge, or is it in order to show that you are a pro driver you have to tinker with the setups 😈 ?

now that is a dehlema!!!!!!!!!! 😈 ;) :D

hey man, I barely ever mess with the setups either, in any GT game. Usually, I have a set couple minor tweaks and then I leave it as is. (unless I'm trying to turn a street car into a dirt car, or have a top speed or whatnot) Tuning a transmission is also good stuff as you can have the pwer band where you need it, although I will usually just tune it for one good track and it's fine from then on. (don't think I've tuned any trannies on GT3 so far, cept the escudo, trying to get that magical 9 million mph that everybody seems to think they are getting :p )
 
See, I'm just the opposite.

The first thing I do when I get in a new car is to install the race suspension, lower rebound, raise bound, add or remove camber depending on drivetrain and always add some negative toe on the front. It's gotten so automatic, that I've recently realized that I've never driven 'stock' cars in GT except for the races where I've had too. I can't help myself. Most cars are much nicer to drive when they are properly set-up.

If you don't tune because you don't want to, that's fine, but if you don't tune because it's too complicated, then you are missing out on a big part of this game. GT is a simulation ( or close to one, anyway) and it's the range of tunning options that separated GT from it's competitors. Playing GT, without the settings, to me , would be like playing Final Fantasy X without using the sphere grid. Yes, it is intimidating, and it is easy to screw up a car, but once you do it and you get the hang of it, you'll find that it was well worth your effort in the end.

I'd probably tune up my car if I fully understood what everything does. I get the gear ratio stuff but as for most of the other stuff, I'm gonna have to find a good ol' page givin a description of em all.
