So, since apparently all the AUDI seats on eBay (available in France) are in either bad shape or simply overpriced, I might've to purchase a Playseat.

Yet, did anyone order from them yet? I'm a bit unsure about the delivery times etc. so any comments about their service would be much appreciated - even better if you're from France. :)

I'm also a bit curious about the quality since I'm a big guy, playing rugby and such - my weight is a little over the suggested 112kg, any experience with that?

I'm also not sure which seat I'm going to buy - the WRC is looking kickass but I've read on the web that it's not as good (quality-wise) as the other ones. Which one would you suggest? I'll put a DFGT on it and I lean towards the Alcantara one:

I'd love to buy it directly instead of over the net but there's no store in Paris (I mean, seriously...) that's selling it. :(

I just got a reply from them for the alcantara model. They are back in stock Feb 15 in America. I'm not sure about France, but thought I'd let you know about the inventory.

So, to the first one: didn't see that yet - well, it's locating shops in Italy only anyway.

I know the second one as well and www.playseat.fr or so but their "Showroom" category is more or less dead. :\

Well, I'll just trust the "4-7 days via UPS" mentioned on their page then. Yet, what about the quality of the Alcantara seat? OK'ish? It's in stock, as seen here: http://playseat.com/shop/fr/playseats-alcantara/playseat-alcantara.html. :)

I have the WRC and had to do substantial fixes to make it to my liking. The main stem section I have to drill holes at the bottom at the seat as the stem would move up and down a good half inch. I found the plastic piece that held the wheel to be very cheap. Overtime after each race the plastic piece that holds the wheel would slide down the main stem. I ended up making my own fix that ended up making it very stable, but am unable to adjust the wheel anymore.

For that much money a really expected something much more stable.

Picture of what I ended up doing.

Ok, really weird - but good work fixing it, nonetheless. :)

Ordered the Alcantara now. :)

i have the same seat as pictured. compact design, looks really good but lack lower back support (a 1 inch thick piece of memory foam solved that problem) one of my friends who about 230lbs sits comfortably but like a lotus elise it is difficult to climb in and out. WRC=overpriced.

if thats the $600 version id rather pay someone one here to weld me up a custom. still might be cheaper and will be way better.

Actually the Alcantara was about 400 Euros incl. shipping etc. - so more like 480 Dollars.

Oh and yes, heard about the lower back support - cushion ftw, I guess.

I have the Alcantara and I'm pretty happy with it. Very sturdy and the seat is more comfortable than it looks. No problem with spending a few hours at a time sitting in it.

I have the GP and love it. I heard the WRC isnt as stable because of the way the steering mounts but I guess they say the advantage is you don't have the bar between your legs. But it hasn't really affected me.

Hi Scuzzilla,

Please come and let us know your thoughts on the Playseat Alcantara. I'm a larger guy myself, and would like to know if its a bit on the smaller side!

I was ready to hit the order button - but they have literally just gone out of stock!

Thanks,

They've dispatched it today - yet, the UPS page still says they didn't receive the parcel yet, telling me it's scheduled for delivery on the 20th. I'll let you know how it's working once it arrived.

If you consider yourself "a bigger guy" a Playseat isn't for you. They're not "small" but they're not exactly heavy duty either.

I am 6 feet; 240-250 pounds and the Playseat evolution works for me 👍

6'3 and a bit heavier than you. :P

Yet, I guess it's always a bit different if you're just heavy because you eat at McDonalds 3 times a day or because you're a line-backer in your football team. :D

Seems reasonable to me - they left it at my neighbour but well, I can live with that. :)

I have the Playseat Evo A1GP and love it. Sturdy as can be and I am a pretty big guy. LOL the only thing I had was a very very slight wobble in the steering poll that was solved by sliding 1 Medium sized Zip Tye into that space:). Now zero wobble:)

And I highly recommend putting a Buttkicker Gamer 2 on your Playseat!

I saw the Playseat Evolution in stock on Amazon 2 days ago and of course when I decided to order it, it's now out of stock. Just my luck. :/

You may want to try Playseat's web site and order it directly from them. That's what I ended up doing and everything was very quick.

So, is it normal that it's looking like this?

The metal plates under the seat aren't touching the ground - intentional, in order to swing when someones sitting on it? It's very stable but it's confusing me.
