I don't think it's a matter of advantage, it's a matter of comfort.... the GT version doesn't look so good to me, I don't like the idea of having a metal bar between my balls :D...
Getting up from the seat seems not so easy to me, get the cheaper evolution!

I'm not sure if anyone's tried a Playseat GT yet to comment on it. The advantage of the design is that it is very compact & removes the column from between your lower legs where it impedes your ability to freely access the pedals. I think the question is, is that cantilevered design stable - is the support for the wheel solid?

I've never tried evolution, but I've had a GT for a couple of months now and absolutely love it. I have g27 hard mounted on it with a buttkicker and the whole set up is super stable and easy to put away when not in use, thanks to quick release handles.

I had the same question when I should get one.

I first tried the GT for about a week (borrowed from a friend).
Negative: The steering column was a moving about quite a bit (up to an inch back and forth). Really annoying when trowing the wheel around.
Positive: No problem reaching all of the pedals.

I then tried the Evolution.
Negative: Reaching all of the pedals.
Positive: Dead stable

I went for the Evolution. Solved the problem with reaching all the pedals by mounting them off center. Very pleased with the choice.
I use it with a G25.

I have the Evo and never notice the bar. It is pretty easy to position the pedals in a way that they can be used comfortably without hitting your legs/ankle on the bar. As others have said, it is very stable, which was a priority for me.

I have the GT (one of the NASCAR models)....I have no movement problems. That comes from not clamping the center post on the metal welded plate. Now That is the cause for what I dislike....without heavy modification I can't get the wheel far enough away from me. I'm only 5' 11 so not that tall....it drives me nutz when using the shifter, using paddles it doesn't bother me as much....also my shifter mount does wobble a bit and is too low...but easy fix

It is sorta a pain to get in and out of....

Overall for this price I expected perfection and complete adjustability....but I'm limited. I really would like to try an evo...and in the back of mind mind wonder if I should've picked it up instead.

Either way you can't go wrong.....comfy seat, great control, easy buttkicker mod to attach, I sit it even to play my FPS which I have easily over 600 hours of play time....(gross lol)

This thing is rock solid and I lobe it with my G27.....

I have the gt5 limited edition playseat and absolutely love it. It is rather expensive for what it is though. I would've home with a gamepod but I didn't have the room in my apartment, white the Playseat I can just collapse it and put it to the side.
mine is rock solid. The slight wobble that I see when somebody wale is using it is not noticeable while I'm using at all
