Hi folks maybe not the right section but more ppl view here :)

I'm looking to get one, but hmmm wondering if I could put my own racing seat on there? As I got one in my garage wrapped in plastic from my old car and the seat is worth nearly $3k

I would like to get the visionracer 3, but seriously $1500 for that is a kick in the face and I know it's great and build quality is A-Class but c'mon now lol.

If it was 800 then I'll jump at it.

To mount a typical racing seat to a Playseat you will likely need to attach a new base platform. Bolt the seat runner mounts to this and then to your seat.

The Playseat is not wide enough so this new wooden/metal base that you would need to make will have to stick out a few inches each side. Doing so would of course improve the comfort a great deal.

The playseat is very good value for money and it would be easily modable to install a differant seat. You would just make an adaptor of sorts out of wood or metal to extend the holes. Should be easy. BTW Show us this eye candy of a seat you have :P.

Thanks for the reply guys, I'll look into it more, I hate the look of the standard playseat seat, I prefer a proper racing seat that's actually comfy on the toosh haha.

I'm at work atm, I'll see if I can find it online and post it. I had it in my 180sx than I bought a 200sx both were used for drag. Hehe

Do you like the stability of the Playseat?

Not too much wheel wobble?

I am itching for a race seat!

I'd say you're better of making a rig of your own considering you have a nice racing seat. Buying a Playseat (Evolution?) just for taking the seat out seems a bit expensive to me.

Stability is great, and very comfortable (evolution). Theres a small amount of steering column movement but when driving it is not noticeable at all. It feels solid as a rock and can take some serious steering punishment.

If you're itching for one, I say go for it.
