There's definitely some balance issues. I've played a bit this past week, and find Big Daddy and Radec just utterly dominate the rest of the characters. That being said, the first character I beat it with has been Sackboy, thanks to his adorable derpiness.

Anyway, I don't see B.D. and Radec frying the competition. They're powerful but slow like a tank. I prefer sneaky guys like Sly or just slick like PaRappa. I just wish that matchmaking actually made matches on experience level. My highest character is 51 so playing against Kratos level 999 is not cool.
 
I'm having a mid rank crisis choosing between Spike and PaRappa right now.
 
But Spike has a lot more range with his square attacks, and his 'million punches' combo leaves him extremely vulnerable in 4 player FFA.

Wetheras, Spike is much slower and has a hideous L1 + direction block.
