I got a playstation eye and tryed using it for the head tracking on GT5, but it(the driver) doesnt move at all when I move. I checked the system video settings and the in-game PSEye settings and made sure everything looked right. Is there something I'm missing?
 
It only works in Arcade Mode.

Lol wow, what a disappointment. I hope PD will allow it in GT Life in a near future update. :irked:
 
Well it seems a bit off sometimes but it would lessen the amount of buttons I would need mapped on the controller if I could use it in racing.

PD, put it in GT Life. Please. But allow us to turn it on or off.
 
Like using the right analog stick to check your mirrors
 
What exactly is the Playstation eye?

Is it another Nintendo power glove type gimmick?
 
It's a webcam...basically, for Sony Playstation. It's a newer version of Playstation 2's EyeToy

Its basically a webcam for the PS3, it has a little microphone that when you talk you don't need the headset, but Idk how well that works. And you can do video chats with friends and they can see you.

You can use the Playstation Eye on a PC too, you just need to download special drivers for it.

The reason why you can't use it in GT Mode is because it takes too much memory. Let's not forget that the PS3 is 5 years old and lacks memory anyway.
 
Tried it today and it felt quite innacurate if I'm honest, I could successfully use it to view the right side of car quite well, however for unknown calibration issues it didn't work properly when using the left side view.

All in all, I must say that it actually adds a lot to the overall experience, specially for those using single displays like me. Giving a quick neck move to check the car on your side makes the whole thing feel much more immersive. 👍

Thanks to cheapskate Sony, it lacked memory when it was new.
 
Yea, Sony just wants us to keep buying the next generation Playstation. Unless they come up with some way to update the system now to handle memory better.
 
Arcade has 16 other racers, so it's probably not performance related.
 
i was gonna search for something on this topic...! ive tried it but the thing is, is that i have the eye thingy under my TV, and it never seems to do anything thing :s!!!

could the reflection on glasses have something to do with it?!
