Hey all,

Im on the borderline of grabbing plus service, few questions go out to those who own PS Plus:

1. If i get PS Plus on my main account, can i then log in and play the DL games/map packs on my other accounts (sub or non sub) eg say GT5 has a DL car pack i get it free on my plus account and then want to race in say my GTP account will it let you? or do you have to buy plus for each account?

2. I have a ps3 in my bedroom, can i DL the same free games to both consoles? using the same loggin of course.

3. WIth the auto DL does it download updates and whatever else it does for all your games? i dont have many of the old games anymore and i dont really want to dl patches for 50games that i dont own/rented, can you restrict it to certain games or recently played etc?

4. Just a quick hands up if you enjoy your service and what you get.

Cheer V8.

1. Yes

2. Yes

3. I would leave that feature off. Not sure 100% how it works but I know a few people who are having push games downloaded that they already had (on disk). There isn't an option to have it only auto download certain things (ie. I'd have it auto download firmware updates only).

4. $70 (AUD) for games over the year that are worth a lot more than that. Definitely was worth it for me even though this first month I already had 1-2 of the games. I'm sure later on it will have a lot more content I don't have.

When I first got it I turned it on, that night my PS3 downloaded '2 Games That We Think You Might Enjoy' which turned out to be the Heavy Rain Demo and ModNation Racers Demo. Funnily enough, I was borrowing Heavy Rain at the time so had just finished it and I bought ModNation Racers earlier last month.

So that feature is worth leaving off, it's needs some options so then you could like browse the PSN store and select things you want to download in the automatic update peroid instead of downloading what it wants. That way I could go to the store and perhaps select a demo I want to play, for this instance lets say Motorstorm, so I go to the PSN store and select Motorstorm then two options could be available; download now, or for PSN+ download later. So then it would download later, at the time you specified the game to do the updates. Which would essentially mean you still get the demo but when you actually go on the PS3 you could go online instead of waiting for your demo to download. If that makes sense. I really think it's a feature that needs implementing because at the moment the automatic download system isn't a benefit. More of a pain.

Other than that I'm enjoying Plus so far, I've downloaded a couple of games worth (I'd probably say about £18-19 worth of content) bearing in mind this is only the first month I think it's going to be well worth the intial price I paid.

Thanks for the replies guys, Speedster as you described it thats how i was hoping the auto feature would work, oh well i like the fact i can share plus stuff with other accounts (my sons and my second account)

Think there is great value to be had, not sure if i should skip the first month as like Lotus i have 2 of the games that are free and the rest dont really mean much to me, the KZ2 dl pack would be cool.

Tell me does these offers disappear on the next month? or can you at any time go and DL LBP for free etc?

HMMM just thinking about it if i get it now i can get LBP and then trade in my hard copy, plus i dont have to get up to change the disc to play lol.
Would work perfect as i just updated my PS3 HDD.

LBP is an introductory offer if you sign up with PSN+ for a year subscription. It expires I think in August. You also get to keep the game if you don't renew your PSN+ subscription.

Offers do disappear. If you get the service in September you will miss out on everything offered in July/August.

Also with the auto download service. Be careful. You can download like 2-3GB of stuff a month and if you don't have a large GB plan it can catch you out and get you capped.

LBP isn't worth much trade in by the way.

My mate signed up for the £11.99 one (90 days) and he says he got Wipeout HD for nowt. I said that, according to the details in PSN, you only own it until your 90 days are up, but he's convinced that it's his to own whether he renews his subscription or not. How does that work? Does it automatically delete itself from his HDD? Please clarify this for me someone.

• Free, rotating monthly PSN games, minis and PS One Classics (at launch, those titles will be "WipEout HD, PSP minis and PS One Classics such as Fieldrunners, Age of Zombies and Rally Cross" — you keep them "as long as you are subscribed")
I assumed it will stay on your hard drive, it will just check for your subscription every time the game starts.

What if you keep your ps3 offline though and play with the date on the ps3? I'm curious if you can "cheat" to keep it.

Chances are the license in the game is set to expire after a certain amount of time(This doesn't use the system clock). I might also be required to be online to start the game up as well.

Interesting chat everyone, think i might get the 12months this month then to get am much free content as they want to hand out.

J-PaP: i have a 100gig monthly quota and a 500gig HDD so setting it up to download in early mornings between 4 to 6am might work ok for me.

Again thanks for the insight and info on Plus, you guys helped me out on getting the service and its a yes.

This might be a silly question, but where do you set it up to do the automatic downloady thing? I can't see the option....

I'm got the PSN plus for the year. Seemed like a good deal at the time. LBP, Wipeout HD and Fieldrunners PSP for "free" with the promise of more freebies/discounts to come.

It is quite difficult to find, but it is in Settings then System Settings and it should be the first option to appear and it'll have the little PSN Plus logo next to it. 👍

I just answer to the last questions:

I like it, i dl for 64€ the first month so yes it was worth it.

Just look for anything on your PS3 XMB and menus with a little yellow cross. I wondered what the hell it was at first, as it even had one next to my mate's name (the one that got Wipeout HD) on my friends list.

I ended up grabbing PS Plus yesterday, im really happy with the service so far, DL all the free stuff and i must say i almost made the $70Aud value up in the first month and another year to of cool DL to go.

Set it up to DL from 2 to 4am and woke up with a demo download this morning, so that was cool. Im on a 100Gig monthly quota and only ever hit like 20 to 30gig max a month so im even happier that i can soak up more of the gig's a month and have 500gig HDD in PS3 to go crazy on the DLs.

Kinda feels like my Tivo, DL stuff even when not requested like Tivo suggestions, dont like it delete it, simple.

Thumbs up so far and again thanks to everyone who posted as i would not have bought it without your feedback.

Well, my pal who downloaded Wipeout HD convinced it was his for nothing when he subscribed to the 90 day fee - he now realises that if he wants to keep the game he will have to buy it. I told him I got it for £17.99 which included the Fury expansion pack. His exact words about PS-Plus were "what a bloody con!" I agree. If I was to pay for the annual one I would expect at least one full-price PSN game per year(whether it's a PSP or PS3 one)to download and keep, even if I decide not to continue my subscription.

we got LBP for free and to keep. So that's not bad.
i have the annual one, and after one year i'm pretty sure i will not play one of the free games anymore. I now got Wipeout for a month and have nearly done it once on intermediate, and after that i will not play it anymore.
It all depends on your needs.
and it's not a con, because it was well know that wipeout(or whatever free game) will timeout after your suscription.
It's like the people who believe the entire ps3 is yours. It's not. The software will remain the propriety of Sony. (that's why the case file will not succed because the 600€ for the ps3 is only for the hardware, and other Os is not part of the hardware)

That's not the complete truth either. At least you get a license to use the included software as long as you want. Depending on where you live you might even have the rights to modify the software regardless of what Sony tries to tell you.

Yeah LBP is ours to keep.

I do have my first gripe with Plus, I have over $30 left in my account, i want to buy some games but the thing is i already got a little screwed over as i had the LBP theme, LBP game(on disc going to trade) and Wipeout so i miss out on them as they are free on plus, sure its only for a year but odds are after a year i will 1 renew or 2 will be over those games and not bother.
I just cannot buy any games now knowing that it might be free or half price next month and so on. Dont think Sony thought this one thru to well as i will now not spend any money in the PStore.
So i sent a spam message to 4 friends who have plus on my FL and all said the exact same thing hahaha, they will not buy anything anymore knowing it might be free and get ripped off. LOLz at Sony for screwing over the developers as in the end many ppl will now not buy games or content like themes/avatars.

Sony should A. give us refunds if already purchased (fat chance) or B. let us know whats going to be free next month or months ahead.

It really does suck knowing if you buy it now its might be free tomorrow.

Over time you will get well over $50 worth of items and games. If you have already paid for something. the cost will be made up down the road. Thats the basis of PlayStation Plus. Value. Its too soon to judge the value but over time it will add up. And Sony does not assume everyone will or has bought everything on the Ps Store. It is also a perk for new users. Thats no different than them discounting a game I have already bought. PSPlus is a value service, its not an individual discount. Some games may or may not apply to the user.

Your alliance of not buying themes or games is not screwing anyone but yourselves. You paid your $50, they dont care if you dont buy anything.....

...but I doubt newer games will be on that free list..... the value you feel you lost on something you already bought will be made up elsewhere over time.

Understand were you coming from but i guess others feel the same as me and simply are not buying anything knowing that it might be free next month.
Sony/Developers do miss out cause i have $30 bucks on my account i want to spend but will not at this point.
Tho i know your point of making it up, in the first month i got great value already, close to what i paid for it but still dont change the fact that anything i buy now might be free tomorrow and wasted even more money that could be spent on another games and not 2 copies of the same game that i cannot even trade in.

Don't except any new games that came out recently to be free any time soon. So you are safe to buy Joe Danger :)

Hey guys i found a nice little run around for the downloading of content over night.

I have my PS3 set to DL content between 2 and 4am, this works extra well for me cause my 100gig a month is split to on peak/off peak.

What i have been doing is before i go to be i click on all the games/Demos/Videos i want to download, so they are all queued up in the Downloads area, once i am finished i shut down the console, at 2am it turns on and continues to dl all that was queued up, next morning all demos are DL and installed, so i dont even have to install them anymore awesome.

The same works for updates, I put on uncharted2 that had 8 updates some over 100mb each, as its starts to DL the update i simply hit circle to cancelled the update, the next morning was greeted with a message that Uncharted 2 is updated and installed.

This method has been working well for me and in a sense works the exact same way as selecting what you want the PS Plus to DL over night.
This has made Plus so much more worth it.

Yes that is right. It can be a bit worring if you already have bought some games over psn. But over a year there will be surly games you don´t have already.
I don´t know if psn+ is trageted at people who already bought a lot of psn.

Marketing wise it would be that psn+ attracts people who are not that interessted in psn games (don´t want to cash out a lot of money for an old game but still want to play it to try out). So this people may end up in buying things over psn because psn+ gave their the taste they needed to start purchase....

I had bought 3 games since i have my ps3 (launch), so for me it´s a good deal because i can play this games for one year and after i will not be interessted in these games anymore. And i can see myself cash out on things that are reduced that before i woudn´t have bought.

But i expect that everybody will over a year time have "reearned" their 50 bucks back. I had my 50€ back in the fist month.... so for my it was a win

I have not bought to many games only about 6 i think.

I have another question about plus, my PS3 turned on last night and my G25 was still plugged in, the wheel started turning and my wife got all freaked out and said someone is in the lounge room on the wheel, mind you this was 3.30am and i didnt know what planet i was on let alone what a G25 wheel is LOL, it was just the g25 spinning when you turn it on and off. anyway my question is does the PS3 turn on when set to each night and log into your account DL what it needs to and then turn off? or does it turn on DL/update and turn off without loggin into my account? kinda crap if it logs into my account and friends think im online when im out with the coo coo's in bed.

It most likely does. If you turn off auto sign in and delete your password in the sign in page it shouldn't log in. But not sure if it then can actually check if there is anything to download.

I'm a little bit frustrated with PSPlus at the moment. Every week I'm seeing the US get at least something to download. EU/AU seems to not get anything.

Playstaion plus is month to month, not week to week, So far only a few Items like a week advanced demo and Hulu Plus, but those are regional.

@GTP_V8SuperCars:
turn the hour to turn the automatic dl on to a time where you can watch what it does.
it's the only way to be sure.
And unplug the AC from the g25 so it doesn't start spinning

Does someone know when the new PSN+ updates comes out. i thought today but still no change
