We had a house fire 2 months ago, it was contained to a room, fortunatly a room with fire doors, and that helped contain it, the fire started right next to the playstation2, i saw it, i was on the other side of the room when the fire started, it was spreading up and across the room, i do not remember if the PS2 was on or not, but when the fire was put out by fire fighters, the whole room was black, windows cracked, PC badly warped.
But the PS2 which was one of the closet things to the fire was in one piece, i thought it would have melted, but it was intact, i thought that there would have been internal damage but, when i turned the PS2 on a week later, on another TV, it was still working, and vice city was still working.
The PS2 is tough, tougher than i thought.

Thank god no one's hurt in the fire.

BTW back on subject :D The PS2 is really heat tolerant eh? I get scared when I turn on my PS2 for 3 hours as it gets pretty hot. But yours was next to a fire.

Man you where lucky to get out of that room ..Glad to hear you and your PS2 made it through it ..;) How did it start.?

Well, thats the strange thing, i am not entirely sure how it started, but my lil sis saw it first, she was closest to it (she's only 7), and was terrified, i threw everyone outa the house, closed the doors, i was glad that everyone was out, so was ma dog, and my cats were out too. Because we live in the country side, the nearest fire station is 6 miles away, and is only a volunteer service, but because nearby, they were training they got to the house in minutes. When i got back into the house, the room, which had all my games, and consoles was almost empty, my gaming sofa was messed up bad, My original Playstation was a mess, my PC was strangly still on, but had melted and warped badly, and my PS2, the paint began to peel off, and only minor burns to it, that was it. it works perfect, even now, so do a few of my games. Hopefully that eases you about leaving the PS2 on for too long, the PS2 may go over 50C, but will continue to function at over 900C, hehehe.its a very tough and durable console, i wonder if a GC or XBOX would have lasted?
All this means, i get a new PS2, giving us 2 PS2's, i am getting new DVD's, games, and i already have a better PC, coz we were insured on all that stuff we had, and can easily get it replaced.

3 hours?
My friends one is on for more than 24 and still works perfectly.
BTW, its in an air-conditioned room.

Well, it's air-conditioned. You try having your PS2 on for 3 hours, where your surrounding area near your house is being cleared for developement. The heat is just unbearable at times. You get the idead ;)

I'm glad to hear that you guys were insured, and you got all your stuff back. It would suck to lose most of your gaming systems, DVDs, and your PC

yeh, i know a girl who did, lost thier whole house, and lost her 2 brothers, so i condider myslef a ver lucky man.
i lost Terminator2 on DVD also, it was one of my favs.
yes, well this proves a postive point on the PS2.
Thanks, i realise that in the end the most important thing is u and ur famliy, and the PS2 of course.
