Finally PlayTV for Australia & NZ is getting somewhere.

PlayTv will launch on 26 November 09 for $169.95

Finally for those New Zealanders like me announcements will be made in 2010.

That's awesome. Should be worth it. Can you watch and record at the same time? Or wake up/shutdown via timer? HD Channels? Somebody answer all my questions!!

Yep, you can record two channels while watching one channel. Record while playing a game or watching a movie. It is in HD. Watch on your PSP or Sony Ericsson Aino phone via RemotePlay on a wifi connection. Plus heaps more features.

I hope this hits the states. I watch a lot of TV, so I can always use another recorder. However, I hope this date is solid. I've heard about PlayTV coming before and it never happened.

I only have 5 channels (not counting the redundant PBS's and whatnot) and can record 3 of those on my 2 TiVo's. Think I'll be skipping this one unless it can be picked up for ridiculously cheap later.
