Please fix the servers....please

I know I will get flamed but am going to have a rant anyway.

PD, please do something to stop the random disconnects in the game. As a moderator in an organised australian league, when you have 2 guys in one division, and another driver in a separate division, kicked from the lobby server, when they have not really had any problems before, it's a hard pill to swallow.

I know, I was one of them. I usually spend up to 20 hours practicing for our league races, and to be kicked after 6 laps is, quite simply, infuriating. After getting kicked, rather than rejoining the room, and potentially creating problems, I go to my lobby, where I get kicked from my own room, after 10 corners.

I love the game, I want to continue to love the game, but GOD, it makes it difficult sometimes.

So, again, PD, please do something to get the lobby servers more stable so We can keep loving what you do.

Rant over, currently ducking for cover.

Honestly I don't think it's their fault. I get this a lot (my connection is a little messed up), but other people don't get this much or at all.
 
Yeah, the most frustrating thing is there seems to be NO reason for changes in the stability of the system. One week it's fine, the next week, with no changes it's a lottery as to whether you stay in a room or not.

Makes things very difficult when trying to organise 40 odd guys and they get started only to end up seeing "you have been disconnected from the lobby server".

It really doesn't do a lot for their enthusiasm of GT5, which is a shame, oh did I mention frustrating? !
 
There's server maintenance in 2 days.

Chill out until after that happens and then complain if it's still bad.

Past few weeks have been dreadful. I hope this maintenance does the trick.

I wonder if it has anything to do with GT Academy? When it boots up it says 'Online play is subject to GT 5 terms and conditions' so i'd assume that it uses GT5's servers.

It's been a problem since the day Photo Stream was introduced in Asia.

That's what I do and I still get disconnected.
 
GT5 has always been terrible online. We keep getting these maintenance periods and it never seems to improve.

I play around a dozen different PS3 games online and GT5 is the only one which does this. Clearly it isn't a problem at my end.

Done that, as have most of the guys that race in our league. They still get disconnected too. There is no Rhyme or reason to it which is the most frustrating thing. My connection is rated as high and the NAT type changes from type 2 or 3 depending on when i check......i also have ADSL 2 and like about 800 metres from the exchange. in theory things should be good !!

some of the guys will run for 2 or 3 weeks with all sorts of problems, then they seem ok and someone else starts having problems........

At the very least PD should try to give the GT5 community an explanation of why it is or maybe is happening....

I know if it was my company, i would be telling the world what was going on, keep people informed and more importantly engaged.
 
Honestly I haven't experienced this when playing by myself or maybe just another two of my friends. But I can see the PSN notification of the ones I know that play GT5 online with almost full rooms getting "... is offline now" - "...is online now" constantly for the last week or so.
 
I haven't been disconnected, but there have been times where the room won't load between tracks, or someone gets a freeze after trying to switch cars or leaving the track. Then there are the moments where some people don't show up on track, or since about 2.04 where the driver list shows everyone on track when in reality not everyone is on track.

The servers definitely have major issues, and I'm fairly certain using GT Academy on the same servers isn't going to help.
 
Given i haven't had a chance to get online since the update, can anyone tell if they are still being booted for no apparent reason or do the servers seem more stable ?

For me at least, it seems worse. I've encountered more glitching and disconnects than I care to mention, yet my internet speed remains constant (as possible, at least).

I don't know what the cause is, but it definitely wasn't fixed.
 
Fixed the 'rare' game freeze issue when leaving an online race.... Err no! My game froze upon leaving the first lobby I was in last night "rolleyes"

Fantastic......Prepare for another rant from me if there are guys getting booted or frozen screens in this weeks league enduro.....Am planning on going on tonight and will see what happens

Have been disconnected 3 rounds in a row now. Not happy !! After 4 laps of the nord 24 hr track it really is heartbraking to see the "you have been disconnected from the lobby server" with 3 laps to go...

Last night i got disconnected, along with another driver, so i re-entered the lobby to watch, only to be booted from the room again at the end of the race.......

PD, its hopelessly frustrating. I havent changed anything, and the connection has gone from stable to unstable in the space of a month......what has changed ??
 
i think this is more of a user/or host problem...rather than PD problem

since update 2.06 my problems went away !!

Have you checked to see that your internet speeds have not dropped/changed?

Sometimes your router isn't work properly, sometimes your modem needs to be reset, sometimes the connection is messed up on the ISP's end, sometimes your neighbors have suddenly started downloading more than they used too, and sometimes there are just rodents eating your lines outside. There could be a million reasons, but the fact is that not everyone has these random disconnect issues so it may not necessarily be a Sony or PD issue.

I didn't see anything in the OP that would make someone get mad at you. You said please too much though. :)

It's only when people are being offensive.


AND I rarely have problems with connections in GT5. Today I couldn't enter a Time Trial. Clicking the Green Flag on brought up the loading symbol. That's the worst I've had it this past month.
 
How many drivers in the race? Full house?
Because every race i have been in with a full grid, there have been at least 2 drivers drop out during the race.

Started with 11, finished with 8 (3 Dc'd this week) around the nurb 24 hr track. I remember that when we used this track in season 5 it was very buggy then as well.

Same host as last season where i had no issues, he has changed nothing, i have changed nothing.

Iv gone 5 seasons and never really had any issues, this season i have been DC'd 3 weeks in a row. spent the last 2 nights practicing with no issues all of a sudden.....go figure !!

We run with Mics OFF, everyone clears cache, i even reset the modem before i boot the PS up ..... Seem to be doing everything right but no love !!

Very frustrating
