hello i was drifting my awds one day and decided to drift a 240sx that was my first drift car ever. i went to tokyo and went aroudn the first corner and spun out. i thought nothing of it since i wasnt used to fr. then went around the second corner and spun and every corner after that drifting liek i once drifted all the frs i had. i coudlnt even drift my mazda rx-8.

i was wondering if anyone coudl please tell me how to get back into fr drifting and give me advice please. i have so many cars id liek to drift againa nd get ready for when i get my capture card so i can make a video. if you wish to help me please leave help. if not please dont make fun of me too much lol. :banghead:

your used to drifting awds eh?...i cant drift em for some reason....well anyways could it be that your flooring it through the turn? hoped this helped...

It does take some time to switch between the two especially if it has been a long time since you last switched. I find two things to be hard when going back to FR from AWD:
1) Letting off the throttle. In an FR, sometimes you will let off the throttle for a full second or more while drifting, but this tends not to happen in AWD cars. So it feels weird at first but you'll get used to it.
2) Corner entrance, set up early and countersteer early. In an FR, the transfer of weight happens mostly before the drift, but with an AWD the transfer of weight happens during the drift. So you might be trying to enter the drift too hard now that you're back in FR. Back off as soon as the car starts to go sideways and baby it for a while until you get it stable.

what i do is as soon as i hear the tires let loose and see smoke in the rear view mirror i counter steer and only use half the gas ( pressing halfway down on the button as i use controller) andnear the end as i start to lose the corner i release gas and then full flatten it in fr. and as i go to enter the opposite side is when i slip out of control. anyone think if i use a stock car on sims i may get back in the groove?

Once you set up your angle, be prepared to countersteer. If you are close to spinning out, accell off and countersteer until you gain control and then reapply trottle and moderate your countersteer throughout the whole drift. Its not like an AWD, so you will have to be on your toes with the countersteer to prevent yourself from spinning out.

I just say take your ass to a course and do about 10-100 laps... thats good enough practice and before your done, you should be drifting like crazy...:D
