PLEASE tell me my connection can be fixed!!

Ok, so I'm getting to the point of getting ready to leave online gaming.

I can't stay in a room on GT5, but if I do I lag really bad!!!!

I figured out when 4 people are in the room, that's when my connection goes to crap.

I have DSL, it sucks I know, but I'm stuck with it.

I have no access to fiber optics...

My PS3 is wired. My upload speeds on wireless were 720 kbps download, 125 kbps upload. For some reason when I'm on a wire the speed test fails?


My ping is usually around 50 ms, but sometimes it's over 2000 ms!!

Our phone lines are like a million years old and they won't replace them.



Is there any hope for my connection?

Sounds like you are out of luck. Dinosaur age copper can't handle jack and with 700k connection, I don't think you can do much when the ping spikes.
