Podcast App?

Does anybody know where to find a good App for an iPhone 4 for podcasts? Apple removed the ability to just listen to podcasts and now you need either the offical Apple Podcast App or some third party app. That's fine and dandy but the problem is that the Apple app is more useless than Mark Sanchez.
I'm just trying to find a 3rd party app that would let me download my podcasts manually (Because I'm old school like that) at my home with its Wi-Fi and listen to it on my way to then back to college without using up my cellular data. I'd pefer it to be free, but I'm fine with paying 3 or 4 dollars for the best possible app.

I like Pocket Casts. I have many subscriptions, but I have set them not to download automatically. Instead, I read the descriptions and manually download what I want while removing the rest. I chose the app because they refresh my subscription on their server instead of the app refreshing each feed on my device. New podcasts show up instantly when I check for updates.
