Everyone,
i am pretty sure that the police of this website will close this thread, because 'it's nothing new" and so on..However, i feel strongly about this and want to post my opinion.
yesterday i was looking at the great car list, started by 359 and was thinking, how thankful i am to those who, with such devotion, work for our cause...when..
Wait ! Stop ! Did you count the number of Asian (99 % Japanese) cars in the list ?!!
Yay !! 397 ! 397 cars !! when, officially PD claims that the total will be "over 650", which means, less than 700, right? Otherwise, they would say over 700 for marksting purposes..
Nissan itself now has about 90 entries, where companies like Mercedes-with 17. For the sake of interest, visit great sites which deal with the top production and super-cars of all the world, www.supercars.net and www.conceptcarz.com. Nissan there has a section of some 20 cars, whereas Mercedes-over 100. do not misunderstand me, i like Skyline, for example, but, when you get, let's say 30 of them, where 20 look identical, perform also, differ in 10 hp when fully tuned, other 5 have just a different racing paint scheme, like JGTC cars? What is the point of it?
the same goes with Lancer Evo's, Subaru Impreza's, etc.
and the racing history? Japanese, so far, have had just one Le Mans victory to my knowledge, that of 1991 Mazda 787 B, right?
You say, game is Japanese? But it has international claim, i believe, not?
The land of beautiful nature, Japan, is greatly infested with pokemons, teenage ninjas with green triangle hair, having their legs twice longer than the body, land of robots with swords and kamikazes..and they all, apparently make cars..out of plastic. Sure, their cars are cheaper, than prestigious models, like Jaguars or Aston Martins, but cheaper does not mean better.
They say, Japanese cars tune so much, etc. So what? Golfs of VW tune not worse, and if you'd tune european and american supercars as much, i wonder, which would be on top?
we, gamers, fans of GT, should unite at some point and make clear to PD, that if they like to have 70 or more percent of the cars in the game japanese, they can sell it there, in Japan, but for the european and american markets, they should consider different selection.
