well, the last time i heard of was in the range of 13.xx, but on 0.5 bar boost and with absolutely no engine / drivetrain tuning.... expect more soon
 
Why does the power go down between 5000 and 5500rpm?
 
.......There's no such thing as too much FWD power...the thing is..It'd be alot better if that power had gone into a Civic Hatchback.....
Hatchbacks + Speed = better than Coupes/tegs + Speed....
It's a mathmatical Truth....don't deny it..
And I have a question

Are Teg engine bays smaller than civs because it ALWAYS seems like tegs bays are so much more crowded when they are modified

Yes - because you almost certainly want a car with a solid rear axle, non-independant suspension and drum brakes on the rear to have more power. Certainly better than a built-from-the-ground-up sports car.

Too much power for a front-wheel drive car is 250hp. After that you reach a point of diminshing returns - you see less and less performance gains for adding more and more power. And, unless you apply some power-sapping differentials, you won't be able to apply that power in a corner. Or for that matter in a straight line.

Doesn't the same thing apply to a RWD car, Famine?

Other than that, I think that the limit for FWD is closer to 200 bhp. Yes, certain Acuras, Altimas, and Supercharged 3800 Pontiacs claw around with more, but none to happily I expect.

No. In a rear-wheel drive car you can apply as much throttle as you like in the middle of any corner, and correct any problems with the steering wheel. If the any problems happen doing the same thing in a FWD car you can ONLY back off the power, or drive off the top of the corner. Then there's torque steer...

200hp is a sensible limit for FWD cars. Ford's Focus RS has 212hp, but a Quaife LSD to keep it all pointing the right way. As a track car, it's close to a standard Subaru Impreza (you'd say a WRX). The Alfa Romeo 147 GTA has 240hp, but is undriveable without traction control. The Golf R32 has 230hp, but they chickened out and went for a big, heavy 4WD system. Saabs and Volvos run 250hp for front-wheel drive models and aren't totally impossible to drive - there's some torque steer but other than that they're fine.

Also I'd like to add pulling away from a standing start. In acceleration the weight is transfered to the rear of the car and the front end lifts as the rear suspension is compressed. In a Front wheel drive car the driving wheels are lifted slightly and produce less traction, meaning that all the power can't be used. In a Rear wheel drive car, the weight transfer actually increases the traction, so most rear wheel drive cars have faster standing quarter times.
 
No-one's "dogging" on it ("Dogging" actually has the same meaning as "cottaging" over here...). There's just an air of nonplussed-ness.

But 450hp from the FRONT wheels is just wrong.
 
Not a wheel which is supposed to be driving AND steering.

I have nothing against front-wheel drive cars. I DRIVE a front-wheel drive car. But front-wheel drive and 450hp should never mix - it's at least 200hp too much.
 
I was talking about physics...

Examples of "too much", in relation to cars:
The BMW 1-series costs too much, for it's sector.
The Rover Citirover is too much like a Tata Indica to be taken seriously.
The 1.6i Vectra has too much weight for its crappy little engine.

Front wheel drive cars don't actually wheelie! :p The lift is due to weight transfer, not torque across the rear axel.

Stiffer suspension may help, but have you ever seen a front wheel drive drag racer?

Too bad this car has neither a transverse engine layout nor any fron-end commonality with a run-of-the-mill Civic. Its is essentially RWD dragster technology used at the front of the car, with a bit of body hanging off the end.

Have you? A wheelie bar on a FWD car will lengthen the wheelbase and allow less weight transfer to the back of the car, giving more traction to the front wheels.
 
I don't know.......The streetable 625HP H22 Civic Hatchback seems right to me...I don't give a crap if it spins tires if you start in third......IT's a 625HP civic Hatchback...
