My opinion is that the T500 is a stronger, smoother, more realistic driving wheel. Not knocking the G27, but in comparison it feels more toy-like. The T500 on the other hand, feels like something out of a real car, it seemed like this to me immediately and the friends that have tried it, none of whom are sim racers, all said the same thing.

The G27 is a great deal for having everything in the box, where the T500 H-shifter is still an unknown, and will be an extra cost on top of the already premium price. The T500 is also not supported by most driving games on PS3 and the G27 does have the edge there.

I would have much rather paid G27 money, but knowing my personality, it would have bothered me that there was a better product (my opinion) out there.

I have to say, I had G25 for like 3 years and now got T500 and T500 wins the battle.. After I used T500 I tried G25 again and it felt like a toy in the hands.

But to be honest you cant compare the more affordable g27 to T500 since T500 is totally different class of wheels, It just set a new standard for more affordable wheels compared to Frex and ECCI

If you have like 500 euro to spend for the higher end wheel I say go for the T500, it does have the flaws, like Mike said no clutch in GT5 no shifter yet. But same for me once I saw T500 I wanted it straight away, didn't even thought about G27 anymore. The more greater plus points are the 0-deadzone and a great strong force FFB.

What's the point of comparing a ~$240 wheel to a $500 wheel?

LOL, $240??

Look everyone! Up in the sky! It's Captain Obvious!!!

What's that you're saying, Captain?

"Geetings Citizens! If you want to drive stick there's no contest, if you don't and money is no object then the wheel that costs twice as much is better."

"Up, up and away!!!"

For GT5, its definitely the T500RS. The G27 is ok though the H-shifter is flaky in GT5 and the wheel doesn't center fast enough. Add that the steering wheel is a bit small making the G27 feel more like a toy. But in the end, GT5 is just a video game anyway:)

Its also not fair to compare the g27 to the t500 in gt5 since PD nerfed the g27. Use the g27 in a different game its a different wheel.👍

I ordered a G27 from Logitech in January with a 20% off coupon. Got it for $240, no tax, free shipping. Received it in early February.

Sure, they may be currently out of stock everywhere, but you can't substitute the secondary market prices for the MSRP. The G27 is a $300 wheel that can occasionally be found at cheaper prices.

And honestly, this topic has been beat to death, I don't know why this poll is necessary. Undoubtedly the T500 is the better wheel, but it also comes at a higher cost. This is like comparing a Mazda6 to a BMW M3, they're not in the same class. If you want good and affordable, go G27, if you want great and expensive, go T500.

You only have to read comments in the T500RS thread.
Probably about 98% of owners have been impressed with their purchase and have noticed a good upgrade as many have come from G25/G27 or Fanatec wheels.

Is it expensive, to an extent yes but most owners Id assume do feel its worth it.

Absolutely. One of my buddies gasped when I told him how much I spent on this wheel ($599.99 US). It kind of ticked me off, however :grumpy:, because I feel that is really not a lot of money to spend on a hobby that you love (sim racing). This same particular friend of mine plays paintball and he has multiple $1000+ markers. I have ONE $600.00 wheel, lol...

Well that's not EXACTLY true, I also have a MOMO Black, a DFGT and a FANATEC GT3 RS V2 Clubsport edition. But you get my point, lol... :sly:

Yes I do get your point and fully agree.
As expressed in other threads people were moaning about the price of this product. I tried to make comparison in relation to a high end graphics card where it favours rather well. Certainly in EU or UK it is now possible to get T500RS cheaper than the Fanatec GT2.

USA folk it seems get the Fanatec's and Logitech's at better value prices.
So price comparisons do vary depending where the end user may live.
