Poll Results Only Viewable After Posting

We used to be able to view poll results without voting, but now it says that they're only viewable after voting.

I was just wondering; why is that?

It's so people have to vote honestly. To hinder people from voting with the majority so they can fit in with the rest of the herd. If you can't see the results until you vote, you would be more inclined to answer by your own account.
