Chosen by week 85 winner GrumpEone

"Open to Artistic Quality"

Cars: Any.

Track: Any.

Photo Travel: Allowed.

Poll Size: Any.

Explanation: In the words of week 85 winner, GrumpEone: "After a handful of excessively restrictive Themes, let's go with an open theme, concentrating on artistic quality. Qualities should include, a good Subject, pleasant Color Balance, smooth Eye-Movement (the eye is led throughout the image, from the edge through the background to the subject, then away to the the other subtle details), and an overall good feel to the image."

Why is it the one of the least "Artistic" shots tied for first right now?

When one votes on these competitions, the theme should be taken into mind, and adherence to that theme should be paramount in the decision process. In my opinion only 2 shots approach the theme, as artistic shots, and really only one fits perfectly.

Thanks korza493, your shot is exactly what I had in mind, and should be the hands-down winner. Your shot is the only one that really fills many of the concepts of art composition. Your shot contains a eye-pleasing background, strong foreground, and good eye-movement between the two, a strong sense of motion with good use of motion blur. Also a excellent job in car/track selection, and everything fits into place well in the shot, I also like the shadowing on the car itself, good use of lighting. The only real drawback I see, is the B&W color scheme, I think the shot would have been more eye-pleasing in color, as the color balance would have been pretty good as long as the shadowing didn't obscure the car's color too much.

@ GrumpEone. I found it looked better in B&W than Colour. And, I have to confess, I took that shot a month or so ago and picked that for the comp because its one of my favorite shots.

I thought it was mine. But if it was, then I would be kicking your ass right now! :sly: I know mine wasn't artistic, but this is for the fun of it.

Congratulations to Honda Power and Korza493 for drawing! I'll put the tie break up now.
