Just won the first two races in the digital (standard car) cup and wanted to ask if anyone agreed that it is the most realistic racing on the game, admittedly im only just starting out as far as % completion goes but I reckon this digital cup is awesome. I used a Supra Rz with super hard tires and it was flat out CLOSE racing all the way with pit stops deciding track positions at times and I managed a 3 second advantage at the end of the race (from pole start). does anyone else find the difficulty of choosing tires though? i find anything other than hard or superhard last only a few laps and are not worth using, im sure in real life a set of medium slicks would last more than two laps!!!!

Two laps on what track? In my corvette I was getting 5-6 laps on Tokyo with T5 medium slicks and up to 12-13 laps using super slicks (T2).

On a 20 lap race, only having to pit once I had "Laps 1+" on the second place guy...

thats interesting, i made two tyre changes on midfield using super hard slicks but my advantage wasnt that great at the end, maybe i should try the corvette!! (sorry dont like american cars though!)

 that's quite alright. To each his own. I know that driving styles can have quite an effect on tire ware. ie; power braking in corners, acceleration while skidding around corners, slam and jam techniques, etc....

Have a :drink: on me.

yes i also find that, i spent 3 hours setting up a Lotus Elise racer with 350 bhp on the 4minute plus twisty test track (cant remember the name) and shaved 15 seconds off a lap time by having correct tow/camber/damper settings etc, i find your braking point has to be spot on aswell, too early and you get overtaken and too late you scrub your tyres in horiffic understeer!

certain cars have different tyre lifes aswell, the Merc CLK racer eats front tyres for instance! will have to try harder!

That's right! The only regulation requirement is Normal Tuning, which has nothing to do with tires.
