First off hello all. Been a lurker for a bit but never really felt the need to post till GT5. I think its a good game, certainly better than others Ive played but it falls short on some things.
1. Why the redundant menu's??? I bought a product do I really need to go through umteen button presses of OK etc to get back to playing or tweaking the game? Any way you guys could reduce and simplify the menu's as well as improving the looks? Some of them like the gift card menu's are just "afterthought" looking. The menu and overall gui lacks the polish and looks of a game with such a long gestation time.
2. Any way to implement full tweak mode in the pits for both A and B spec? In real life racing you can adjust downforce, brakes, suspension etc while the car is in the pits. Imho this is a huge oversight.
Also it would be nice to be able to put myself into the drivers seat in B spec while in the pits so that I can race for a few laps if I choose. I recall being able to do that in a prior GT game if memory serves me.
3. Any way you guys at PD can improve the B spec driver mode programing? Its quite infuriating to have a lvl 30 B spec driver be unable to pass a generic car [r33 GTR] on a wide turn while he is driving a Zonda R. Seems like they are all programed, regardless of personality type or lvl, to only pass hard on the straights. Every now and then you will see a decent pass in the turns but its so far in between.
3A. Also can you please turn on the "overtake" button and make it work cause Ive never got it to work on any of my 10 drivers, regardless of lvl or car they are driving.
4. Is there a way for you to widen the wheels, or push them out, when we replace the stock wheels so they are not tucked into the fenders? This really ruins one of the points of putting on aftermarket rims on a car. The rims are supposed to add some aggressiveness to the looks of the car by making it flush or slightly wider then the fender. If I want tucked in wheels Id stay with the stockers
5. How bout bringing back Red Canyon, Test Track, Deep Forest etc
6. No BMW X5M, X6M? How come no turbos for the Viper like in the past? No consistency at all from one GT title to the next. In real life they put out over 2000hp to the wheels with aftermarket turbos. At the very least they should be making 1500rwhp plus along with the Gallardos/ Supras etc that do that with aftermarket turbos. Really need to bring back Test Track with its super long straights that let the cars get up to max speed and can carry most of it in the turn as well. Daytona is nice but far smaller than the Test Track. You could do a 1/4 mile or a mile run on the old Test Track.
I love this game warts and all. Just wish it was more polished, had better AI and programing for the B spec etc etc. Im sure PD will continue to upgrade this till it comes close or reaches its full potential. Heres to hoping some or all
of my suggestions gets implemented.
