Polyphony Digital race, Suggestions on cars before I start...

First of all, what does it mean by "Normal tuning Only" ?

Does this mean no engine mods ? What about turbo mods ? Or does it just mean no N/A tune stage 1/2/3 ?

One of my goals since the beginning (About 1 year ago exactly) was to make sure I always used cars which fit in with the rest of the cars. I save all my cool replays, and I find that the coolest ones are with cars that look like they fit in to the grid.

Race cars vs. race cars, Road cars vs. Road cars etc...

Can someone recomend some cars for the PD race ? I'm not the best driver but I am getting okay times.

I was thinking running the RX7, but ive just put around 1000miles on the 787B in the last few days and I would rather something more throaty sounding... Maybe the supra ? Viper ? Z06 ? Cobra R ?
 
Normal car is nonrace car. Just normal car that don't have any mods. that means no turbo or NA stage mods. However you can change the tires. Suggest you use super slicks. won't pit for 20 laps if you are careful.

I will say using GTone Road car. It will storm all the competitions. However if you want to have some challenge, pick any car that has 276 hp.
 
Use T2's, or T3's. Change oil. Have fun.
 
What about suspension and drivetrain upgrades and Chassis/lightweight mods ?
 
In the PD cup the car must be a "street car" and can ONLY have an oil change, and tires for modifications.
If you want to win it in a "walk" the XJ 220, the TS020 Road Car, The R390GT Road Car, and the Viper GTS will eat the competition alive.
If you are a pretty good driver, I suggest the Lotus Esprit, The Honda NSX Type zero, The Ruf RGT, or if you really want a challenge, The Lotus Elise, With T2 or T3 tires you should have not problems with any track except the Test Course.

All cars are on T3 tires. Use pit strategy and skill to win.:p

Test course? No, I don't think PDC has test course. Thanks god!
 
i ran a z06. it thrashed the competition.
a rx7-rz sounds good. try not to pick t2 tires if you want to have a close match cause just about any car with t2 tires and 200+ hp can win as no pitting is often a win :)

Elise 190 with stock tires was fun...until SSR11, where the AI gained a boost as usual,and I couldn't keep up anymore. Driving with stock tires in the PD cup gives you some really close racing, you should try it. Well, at least it's close until AI gets the mysterious power increase in the latter part of the cup.. ;)

The TVR Speed 12 and Shelby Cobra will also eat up the competition :) For a good challenge the Elise is not bad at all, but try with an RSi.. thats where the fun is at :trouble:
 
If you want something "throaty," the Tuscan is really good. It's easy... not as easy as the R390 Road Car or Vipers, but it's a pretty relaxing thing to drive.

When the Corvette Z06 or Corvette Grand Sport are in the PD Cup, they pit every 2 laps. The NSX and Camaro pit every 5. The RX-7's and Z Concept pit every 6. I think the RX-8 usually ends up having the best time because he only pits on lap 7 and 14.
 
i think that if the ai used t2 tires on the z06 it would be unbeatable in this race.
i used that combo and thrashed them ai
 
For me it would have to be the Motorsport Elise (Exige lookalike) fun car to drive with some battles with the AI early on :)

More like the power drop on your car of choice, due to long races and no oil changes ;)

Is it possible to win any of these races with an FF car....say an Integra type R??
 
I'd say the most fun I've had is in the Tommy Kaira ZZS on T2's.

The current trend I've been trying is "Straight out of the box" runs. Pick a car from the dealer, and go. No oil change or tire change. Current contender is the Ruf RGT.

Ran with the R390 Road car when i did it, T2's change oil and off ya go
 
I started this today and I used a RUF RGT. I'm 6 races in and came first comfortably in each.
Just remember your super slicks....
 
I used the 400R.... fell in love with it by the end of the series....
 
I used the TVR Speed 12. It sounds more throaty than Lemmy after a Woodbine binge, and it spanks everything else!
 
I used the RUF RGT (or whatever the highest model they have) but twenty laps with me pounding the crap out of them just wasn't fun so I quit once I knew I had the championship. I went back and tried it with the Viper GTSR Concept, again, not fun. Then I finished off the last two races, Tokyo and Grand Valley I believe with a R33, and that was a lot more fun. Actually had to take straighter lines and stratatize. I still won by 10 seconds or so, but it was a lot funner!
 
Try running sim tyres on a Lotus 350 sport, very tight races, no need for pit stops ;)
