anyone else noticed this..

had a few laps on the time trail with the Elise to warm up before a couple of online races..when i did go online, the characteristics of the car id just tuned into were totally different, or seemed so, usually ending up with me off the track within a couple of corners and playing catch-up.

With clear air in front, and catching the pack again i found braking zones and corner speeds id just been hitting on the time trial not acheivable, usually ending up with me off the track again.

anyone else noticed anthinng like this..??

I haven't played online since the Spec II update but GT5P online as a sort of 'slowdown' mode the closer and further you get infront. The cars grip reduces as you get toward the lead driver and more so as you get in the lead. Therefore braking zones, corner speeds etc are not the same.

This part of the reason I don't play online all that much.

Are you guys playing in arcade mode or professional physics mode?

When I play, it is always in Pro mode.

Are you serious? PD wouldn't make such a stupid mistake would they?

There is some threads on detailed testing of this. I would find the main thread but I don't have time at the moment, got to go.

I've kinda thought this too, in free run (suzuka pro) before entering an online race I was managing 1:08 when setting the car up then in the online races I was getting 1:12 to 1:14 for clear laps.

Yup, the "online boost" is still very much in effect for all online races.

Here's the thread with details. Essentially, the further you are from the leader, the closer your car will run to practice speeds and grip levels. This impacts both standard and pro modes.

This is disgusting, I'd felt there were times when I've been battling near the front and using the same braking point from previous races/laps but struggled to get the car to slow down and ended up in the gravel watching everyone go past.

If that's really the case then I hope that it's a selectable option in the full game.

Some Online events feature Standard Physics, some feature Professional Physics. So thats what happen to you. You've been playing in one mode, once you go online The other mode was selected. So that could be one reason.
Other reason, Read the thread above ;)

no, my experience was with both the pro Suzuka races (timetrail & race) where as far as im aware is set to pro physics..??

dont think its a catch up thing either as i still experience this when 20+ seconds behind the leader..??
