I know this kind of is shocking, but I guess it shouldn't be. There were predictions years and years ago(late 1990's) about how the German economy would falter. The main reason for it was because they predicted the US would end its reign of economic comfort and many of the plants of US-own companies in Germany would have to shut down... But football, errr soccer? This is the disturbing part, especially since some TV company had to back down from donating it's annual 700 million dollars...

Football clubs all over the world are in financial trouble. Do you know how much the TV companys have to pay to get the Premiere division football matches over here?

Bloody loads of money, this is why we now have to pay to watch allot of matches.
Even football clubs in the uk are in dire-straits because of players and high wage prices. Look at scottish footie and its even worse.

I'm not sure how the US football teams are holding up, they never had too huge of a base to begin with, and rarely are they ever televised, so I think they'd be holding up well, right?

Well ya seeing as there arent too many american players. So I dont think they would be asking for really high wages like European/Brazillian/argentinien/bloody anywhere else that football is popular players do.

Although your goalie Brad Friedel is good he plays for Blackburn Rovers over here. :)

Yeh, especially Serie A clubs and La Liga clubs, look at what happened to Fiorentina & what will happen to Lazio :(

We have 4 or 5 clubs in Holland who are in deep financial trouble too.
Most of them are small clubs with a limited budget who got carried away with purchasing players or building a new stadium.
